Remember Zen Monday? This was #37 from 2009, a photo taken of me by my husband, John Sandel, at Hahamongna Watershed Park. Our dear, departed Boz was still with us.

How things change. We're hiking in different places, and now it's Wilma who comes along on the leash. We still get our doses of Zen, though.

This is the last time I'll be posting here at Pasadena Daily Photo/Living Vicuriously. I've shifted operations to a new website, PetreaBurchard.com. Please join me there! For your contemplative Sunday spirit: a bit of early Zen from guest photographer John Sandel. This one knocked my socks off and I'm grateful to him for letting me post it.

To be honest, the weather is warm and I was already barefoot.

Zen Wednesday: #1

We've never had a Zen Wednesday before. I missed Zen Monday this week because it was the last day of the month and we do Last Day and--I don't know, is that Zen? (Not that Zen Monday is ever actually Zen.) Then Tuesday was Theme Day. But we've got to have our Zen, so here it is.

Zen One

This building at the corner of Foothill and Daisy is for sale. I'd guess it was built in the early- to mid-20th century, despite the 19th century look. The fact that the builders took the trouble to make a mundane thing such as a vent into an attractive detail may speak about the rest of the building. It may not. I didn't notice the missing flashing until I blew up the photo. That just makes me like it more.
