I Needed That

Lately Boz and I have been walking at dusk when it's cooler. The cicadas, frogs and crickets send up a racket. Behind every bush there's something to interest Boz, even if it's only a scent.

There's something to interest me, too, around every corner. A light, a shadow, a new view.

Yesterday was one of those days when nothing went right. Except this.

. . .and this went VERY right. I feel like I'm right there walking with you. Beautiful shot Petrea. Hope tomorrow dawns with fresh horizons.

BTW, I'm going to Paris Oct 21-Nov 1. Care to try a Skype blogger meet up while I'm there with whomever is available in Paris at the time? V mentioned she will be out your way in Oct, but I don't know if the dates will coincide. Would be fun, and we'd have to figure out a time that might work with the 9 hour time difference. Let me know what you think.

Another uplifting thought even as the day wasn't perfect.

Kim, the dates ought to work! That sounds like fun. I'll email you.

It'll be better, BD, because I have a better attitude. That has a lot to do with it, I think.

Thanks, Kay. And we shall see you tomorrow here on the old blog.

That is a beautiful picture, Petrea. A lovely sight to have found.

Long walks, even through familiar territory from a different direction, seem like a little vacation from troubles, with new viewpoints, new ideas. And having a camera in your pocket makes for even more insight.

What a beautiful photo! I need to go there immediately as I've just got myself upset about something.

Oh, what gorgeous potential lies just around that corner, bathed in golden light. You are so lucky to live where you live, Petrea.

Bellis and I have talked about this, how you don't find a spot like this in England, where you can get away from the city so quickly. We can take a ten or fifteen minute drive, park the car, walk off into the wilderness and be home by dark.

Yes, lucky. It's a tonic.

Nice. Very nice. Peaceful. I like it. A road less traveled comes to mind.

Such a great photo! Sometimes when it seems like things are too dark you get the perfect spot of light to brighten your horizon.

That horizon and view is spectacular. It is amazing that just a small moment can turn a day around.

You are all quite poetic today. I'm glad you like the photo.

Right now I'm sitting at my desk with the windows open, listening to the crickets and feeling grateful. Thank you.
