Moi Aussi

I usually do my posts in the early evening, then set the timer on this here Blogger thingy to post at a minute after midnight. (Don't ask me why I set it for a minute after; I don't have an answer.)

I've spent a good deal of time researching a post and I've come to realize I don't have time to finish it tonight. So I'm forced to post something completely frivolous that has no educational value whatsoever. You will not be enlightened here on the blog today. I'm terribly sorry. I hope you'll at least be entertained.

Here's a self-portrait I took in the main floor hallway of the Westin Pasadena when I met friends for drinks at Ventanas, the lobby bar. It's a nice bar.

There--that was enlightening, right?

Actually, isn't this the Ventanas county jail where you were put behind bars for illegal shutterladybugging.

So you give us art. So what's wrong with that?

Why is it that items with "no educational value whatsoever" are often the most entertaining?

Who know what lurks behind the lattice?

A.A. do...

Haha, great! We should all have that happen more often!
Glad to hear that Blogger, and not you, is/are not the night owl.
A fun photo.

Petrea, thank you. You give me my daily dose of Pasadena. Now I know there is a nice bar :D

P-I do the same thing---delay the post to an odd time (unless it's 12:02, that's even...ba-da-dummm). Not weird, just picking your own time.

Love the pic and it IS educational and entertaining. Tho I have been known, in the right mood or altered mood, to laugh at something non-educational like a Chevy Chase movie.

I like the first option-Ventanas county jail! Would that it was this nice!

Love this post and love the photo. You worry too much.

Oh my god, this looks like a scene from The Shining.

Come play with us Danny.

I agree with Desiree!!! Love the photo...and learned that it was a self portrait...does that make it educational??? Go figure!!!

A different type of educational--and a beautiful photo.

You really captured it, Petrea!

Very cool self portrait. I like you standing still, and someone moving in the corner. (I too set my posts for just after midnight; what's up with that?)

I got such a kick out of your comments on the photo and your readers comments, too. Petrea. . .since starting my new job and trying to finish several house projects, get my kid to and back from Europe, internet connectivilty controlled by poltergeists, judging and photo contest, attending two huge weekend photo events and trying to process all the shots I took, and going to two concerts in the past week. . .I've just been falling asleep at 9 when I've been home and not even staying awake to post in the last couple weeks! It's been real hit and miss and I've just caught up with myself today. . . So, OMGosh, you ran out of time one evening and couldn't finish the background work for a planned post. . .yikes. No guilt. Elaine is right, you gave us art. It figures, since you're an artist on several levels.

Bless you for consistency in posting images of beautiful Pasadena and sharing this one of beautiful you. Love this shot!

I learned something here today. Not sure what it was I learned exactly, but it was enlightening nevertheless. I thank you for that - whatever it was.

I'm guessing they added 'Be there or be square!' to the invite, but you decided you wanted both?

Wonderful symmetry in your photo! I can't wait to find out what you were researching - maybe I'll find out after midnight?

Your comments are wonderful, thank you! It's been a runaround day. I'm so grateful for each comment.

Trish, where are you posting to a blog? You know your name's not a link, right?

Kim, I should stop complaining about being busy!

Lori--what, you mean not getting my homework done?

Bellis--afraid not. I need to get a photo from another angle and I sure didn't get it today.

A lovely photo...and I will say more fun for me since I've seen the place for reals.

Any decent happy hour deals there?

Trish, too late, the word is out, we already know you're a fountain of information. And the Teezr isn't much better! But you have a right to your privacy, my friend.

Amy, go when you want a quiet place. Anyone else have impressions of Ventanas?

K--that means a lot, especially from you.

WCGB: unfortunately, no. A tasty but pricey burger indeed.
