Boz is having a bit of an ordeal. Had to have stitches. Chewed one out.This morning at Foothill Veterinarian, Dr. Bell said Boz won't need a replacement stitch. Just some antihistamine. So it's less of an ordeal than we'd feared.
But Boz doesn't know that. For him, it was still horrible.

ReplyDeleteAwww, too bad. Bibi hasn't ever had stitches except when she was spayed, and fortunately left them alone.

ReplyDeleteMonkeys bite, too, sometimes. But they usually don't mean to hurt. They just don't speak Dog very well.
My advice: trust the monkeys who dress the wound, speak softly and give you dinner. If you sleep in their den and make it through the night alive, you can probably trust them.
Plus, rumor has it that monkeys know how to make cheese! Get well soon,

ReplyDeleteI'm glad I don't have a dog full-time. My parents-in-law are coming to pick up their dog tomorrow after 3 weeks with us. I think she'll be glad to go back to a quieter home with her "mom and dad".
I wonder if aloe vera would work on doggie wounds. (As an adjunct, not sole treatment).

ReplyDeleteFreefalling: Thanks! I like this one, too. Boz does have a collar, and should have been wearing it (my fault). I'd never post a photo of him in it though. He's too proud.

Christie: they do require attention and consistency, like little kids do. Granted, it's not the same as a child, but there are definite similarities!
Tall Gary: that's a great idea and I'm going to google it. Might be a good healer for his scars.
Caltechgirl: Boz has gotten great care from all the doctors he's seen there. I guess we're not the only ones who are pleased, because the place is packed on Saturdays.

ReplyDeleteWell, at least he's still alive. My male dog had kidney failure back in '05 and died at the vet.........I still have the urn.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, if Boz would need any further operations, you might want to try a head-cone. Yes, it annoys dogs but it stops them from chewing.

ReplyDeleteWell, Petrea, as I said before, Boz is lucky to be alive. I don't know how old he is but do spend all the time you can with him.
ReplyDeleteThat is...what I regret with my dead dog. For about...4 years...when I got him as a child around age 5, I would do apalling things to him and it makes me want to turn back the clock and give myself a beating.
He lived a good near-12 year life but it is the first 4 years, everyday, that I regret and I would do anything to relive those first 4 years and do the right thing.
