Shade

What's the best way to deal with a heat wave?

1. Find shade.

2. Get into the shade.

3. Rub yourself against the shade.

4. Bite the shade.

And when in doubt, find even more shade and count down the days til fall. What a cutie!

Supermodels know the drill. Stay in the shade; sun damage wreaks havoc on the skin and takes years off your career.

I don't know if Wilma can count, William, but she can tell time.

And always be ready to smile for the camera, Hiker.

Life according to Wilma sounds so logical and simple.

Wilma knows best...

Dogs have their own kind of logic, Irina, don't you think?

Geoff, I'm sure you'll believe me when I say Wilma is especially intelligent.

So, where is Wilma's kiddie pool??? :-)

She had one, but she thought it was her drinking bowl. We gave it to a dog who would appreciate it as a high status soaking pool.

That is such a darling photo. I just checked Pasadena's weather - 100F. I just don't remember it ever getting so hot (so often) when I lived there 45 years ago. Take care!

It is definitely toasty. The heat should break within a day or two if it knows what's good for it.

Wilma! You shouldn't be biting the leaf that shades you and scratches your back?

I missed this one. Does Wilma like playing in water?

At least she doesn't bite the hand that feeds her, right Speedway?

PA, she hasn't shown much interest in water. We did get her a swimming lesson and she was willing, mostly because there was a toy in the pool that she wanted. Boz loved water he could run in. Wilma might like shallow water when we can find her some.

Of course! Great doggie wisdom....
(And such a ham for the camera! ;-) )

Hot weather is so tough on our furkids ... hopefully the edge will come off the temperatures soon, dear Wilma.

We're still having hot days here, but it's better (92 degrees instead of 102). We go for our walk early in the morning, then again after the sun sets. Still, it's a long day for Wilma, waiting for a squirrel to happen across the back yard.
