Ah, sun, coffee, California...I want to be right there where he is and doing just the same thing! (And yes, so true re: historic mansions along the Hudson Valley - I also sadly hear many have seen better days, the Vanderbilt site is luckier than most, alas.)
Good eye, PA, I never even noticed it. I assume you know where I stood when I took the picture. It might be easy to look at it from the outside. I wonder if we could get an invitation to snoop around inside.

Ah, the generation gap. But at least they're together (physically if not mentally).
Sounds a nice moment!

I like this moment, too. Even if they don't know each other and are only sharing a table, they're still sharing.
Mmmmm … Who in their right mind would NOT be tempted to enter and join them?
Lovely photo, Petrea.
Their expressions, plus the newspaper and the smart phone -- It's a modern Norman Rockwell.
Thanks for the nice words Dive and Karin. I like it, too. I loaded it big so you could enlarge it. I hope that works.
Ah.. Breathe
I do love this, Petrea, when I see a place I recognise in Pasadena. Wonderful. Guess they didn't notice you taking the photo :).
Either that or they're used to the paparazzi.
That's life...
Nice photo! I'd like to go there....
I'm curious about the glass above the window. Old pressed pebble glass with one pane having turned purple
