Boz Post

Time for a Boz post.

These pictures are a couple of years old.

Boz hasn't done this in a while.

Running, I mean.

We don't take him out on the trails. It's too hard for an oldy dog.

He still has that amazing butt, though.

He likes his food, his naps and his walks, though we walk closer to home than we used to. He's got some serious old dog problems, but he's himself.

We'll all be old dogs sooner or later. Love is the deal, folks. Love is the deal.

Good to see Boz again, even if he's slowing down. So's mine and I just can't really think of her as nine, but time passes whether we like it or not.

Right, BD. There will never be another Boz.

Diana, I'm told Boz is old for a dog his size (15 yrs, 70 lbs.). We're having a good run.

I skipped the post above yours to read about Boz... Each photo I kept thinkin' "Go, Boz, go" ( Go,Dog,Go) and u know who I had in mind.... :-)
Glad to see him running- he's still a kid at heart!.

You know for most of us the butt is among the first parts to go. Figures he'd be special in that way, too. I'm a sucker for those eyes and his forehead.
15 years - great run.

I hope someone will find such kind words to describe my condition when I get old. I love the respect you always show for Boz.
Fun to see the photos from his running days.

He's our little love.

When you share your life with a member of a different species you learn all sorts of things about communication, and about what's important. Even though that's a cliche it's true.

I've loved two-legged creatures and four-legged creatures, and I've loved each, for his and her own special self. We love, over and over again, and it's always different, every single time.

Wow! The joy of Boz. Loving life and living large. Wonderful, Petrea.

@Petrea: I bet you learned a lot about yourself as well.. funny how pets and kids know how to do that to us!. Patience is one thing I have learned over the years!.

Click on Altadenahiker and read her piece about her horse, Vandy. A beautiful relationship. I agree, Karin, they are individuals and it's always different.

We're taking two walks each day, Dive, one slow one for Boz and a faster one for us. So our old dog is making us even more healthy.

Patience and consistency, KBF. Sometimes it surprises me how much time I can spend just tickling his chest.

Chieftess, you know doggie love, and even old doggie love.

What a lucky dog Boz is to have you. My Dakota is ten now, and she's graying and slowing a bit. But you know she'll always be my sweet puppy.

Such a great collection of Boz photos! I especially love the last one -- Boz looks he's caught the scent of the most amazing thing imaginable. I'm right there with Boz that food and naps and walks are about all it takes to make me happy.

Yes, love IS the deal! Wonderful to see photos of Boz. He looks to be so enjoying that walk.

It is such a gift to share your life with such a 4-legged love!

I know, Bayside. I really do.

There's a bell curve of intelligence for dogs, Katie, and some need intellectual stimulation. But most are happy with the basics.

I agree, Ms M! Boz is a giver and we are so lucky.

I still have, somewhere, the series of pictures of Boz and Phoebe together. And they looked quite similar, and yet they decided that though they would sit in the same geographical area, they would not acknowledge each other's presence at all.

I remember the picture. Knowing what I know now about dogs, I think they were being quite sociable by not facing off and instead aiming their rear ends at each other.

Okay, this post didn't appear this morning when I showed up over the weekend or this morning. I missed pics of Boz?!?!?! Damn you Blogger!

We did however, see a younger version of Boz today. She had a similarly sexy tuchis and loved people, but not nearly as cute as Boz.

Love love love seeing pups who enjoy a trail without fear of running into something bad and hitting some trouble.

Hope Boz sticks around as long as he can, he's a darn good dog!

We hope he sticks around, too.
