Lest We Forget

taken at the entrance to the Cobb Estate, which was closed due to the Station Fire, late 2009

The Fork Foundation with the cooperation of the Pasadena Firefighters Local 809 will be collecting donations for the families of the Prescott, AZ hotshot fire team who lost their lives fighting the horrific wildfire.

Friday July 19 from 7am to 5pm and Saturday July 20 from 8am to 4pm

Fork Plaza - 200 Bellefontaine St, Pasadena, 91105 Just South of Huntington Hospital where Pasadena Ave. and St. John Ave. come to a Fork!
Look for the off duty firefighters and reserve apparatus from Pasadena Firefighters local 809. Drive by and fill the boot.
All checks made payable to: Yarnell Hill Firefighters Fund... 100% of all donations collected go straight to this fund in helping their families.

Coming to a Fork in the road and deciding which way to go is a metaphor for change. As Yogi Berra would say, “When you come to a fork in the road, take it! The Fork Foundation is exactly that, our mission statement is to provide change and reach out to the community where there is a need. Community has no boundaries or borders.  We want to help change the lives of these families and help them get back on their feet after this devastating loss.

Such a heartbreaking tragedy. It's great to know about this opportunity to help. Thanks for posting about it. That's the perfect photo to reflect the community's gratitude post-Station Fire.

You're welcome. I got a press released and thought I'd put the information out there.

Another option (always check, but from what I can tell it's reputable, and goes directly to the families) is and they take paypal.

These brave young firefighters made only around $30K a year.
