Zen Monday: #231

It's hard for me not to tell you what I think of this photo. But on Zen Monday, that job is yours.

(PS: I'm trying out new templates and styles to see what works. I'll appreciate your comments and suggestions.)

  1. If I was a Cubs fan I'd be hiding too!

  2. Looks like Boz won't get his walk today!. BTW I like this layout! This is a first, haven't seen this template used by any blogger.

  3. "Penny for the Guy". I think only Dive will get it. Or how about "Pooped out, both of them."

Wish you weren't changing your style, I loved the old design, it was clean and aesthetically pleasing and had a nice font. I guess that after looking at your blog every day for over 3 years, I can't take change, sigh. (Still not all fitting on my laptop screen, a small part of the right-hand side is missing.)

  4. We used to stuff some sacks with hay to make the approximate shape of a man, then dress him in donated clothes and hat, wheel him around the neighborhood or stand on a street corner and collect pennies to buy fireworks. The "Guy Fawkes" would then sit on top of the bonfire. I remember one guy had my uncle's clothes, hat, and shoes on, so I was a bit traumatized to see him burn.

  5. forgot to mention that this fits well on my 17" screen... I like the border around each item on your sidebar

  6. Whatever Boz and you did, it must have been exhausting:) I like your new blog look, but I too can't see the right side without scrolling--which is just fine.

  7. I don't know who looks the more relaxed, but I mist confess a relaxation contest is something I'd like to see in the next Olympics. I think you'd both be contenders.

  8. Dog and his pet human can nap anywhere

  9. Oh, these Hollywood stars - they're out among us in the most outrageous disguises! This one is working on her (un)tan - all the Vitamin D, none of the UV rays.

  10. Too pooped to pop...

( like the boarders...and the new template! Fits well on my screen...Looks very newspaperish...)

  11. pk: 'Twas ever thus.

I'm still messing with style, trying to get this thing to fit Bellis's screen. Bellis, after 5 years of looking at it every day I was so sick of it!

  12. Sticking up doghouses is exhausting business.

  13. It fits on my screen!! Now it looks much better, thank you.

  14. Go take a nap already, you poor thing.

  15. Wow! Getting your webpage proportioned to fit Bellis' screen means that your template on my monitor appears centered, with approx. 2" open on left and right sides.

I like the slate blue rules on your boxes that appear to float on light gray with shadows. I've thought about changing mine, but want as much space as possible for photos. Using boxes seemed to constrict that.

  16. And, as I scrolled down, the Blog Archive shows up as a long column of on and 2 digit numerals and letters - such as

    2013
    (44)
    02
    /1
    02
    /2 ...
    Z
    e
    n
    M
    o
    n
    d
    a
    y, etc.

And the link column has a lot of word breaks with single letters sent to the next line.

  17. I see that, now that I'm on my laptop. Ugh. Blogger is so 20th century. Some of the templates will adjust to any screen, some won't. Back to the drawing board.

I think this picture looks like an inflatable dummy that got deflated, but only on its upper half. Which is exactly what it is, and Margaret is correct, too.

  18. Could be a movie prop for "The Trouble with Harry" :-) (starring Boz)

Your blog format looks fine on my screen. I don't see your blog archive, so I assume you're still working on that? The links column looks good. Good luck :-)

  19. Hi Ms. M, I removed the blog archive because it was causing problems. I assumed no one ever looked at it, but do you think people use it? I can put it back.

  20. headline Pasadena, CA: "Cubs fan already gives up on season two weeks before spring opener, dog still wants a walk".

  21. I remember a couple of winning Cubs seasons back when I lived in Illinois. People didn't know what to do with all that joy.

  22. I don't know how often the blog archive links are used. I've only used them rarely. I wonder how often others use them?

  23. I'm thinking you need a book but a nap sounds good too
