Zen Monday: #217

Zen Monday's the day when you write the copy. Just tell us what comes to mind.

I love Mondays. It's so nice to see you all.

For updates on my publishing misadventures and the Camelot Where You Are contest, please read below the asterisks.

**********

Oh hey! Nice to see you down here.

I'm forging ahead with the publication of Camelot & Vine, my novel about a failing Hollywood actress who, on her fortieth birthday, gets fired from her cheesy acting job, catches her boyfriend in the arms of his wife, gets drunk on a flight to London, collides on horseback with a Mercedes, flies through a gap in time and lands in the sixth century, accidentally saving King Arthur's Life.

So far, forty sucks. And it's about to suck more.

It pains me to tell you I might not have the book ready before the end of this month. So I'm readjusting my hopes, and my fondest wish is to have it ready long before Christmas.

Meanwhile, the rate of receipt of entries for the Camelot Where You Are contest has slowed, which works out because we have the best of both worlds: some contest, some blog. This week I have enough entries, so we'll do the contest. Stop by during the week and check them out. If you'd like to enter, read the rules (or lack thereof) and send in a photo!

I was hoping to read the other comments, your followers are much more witty than I am. That said, there doesn't seem to be a bright one in the bunch.

Sorry to here are your publishing misadventures.

I'm sorry, no light bulbs are going off for me.

Looking forward to Camelot and Vine, no matter how long it takes. Best of British with getting it over the line, Petrea.

I'm all burned out of ideas. As for Camelot & Vine, good things are worth the wait.

I'm beginning to see the light!

I agree with Susan. It will be worth the wait.

some ideas are brighter than others.

Camelot & Vine will be here when it is here and we'll shine light upon it when it does happen!

Did you replace all the light bulbs in your house with environmentally friendly ones on the same day?

Are these light bulbs 'burned' out or 'burnt' out?

Thanks for the update, Petrea, on your book. It will all work out for the best I am sure. Frustrating for you, perhaps, but we are a patient lot out here.

How many lightbulbs does it take ...

...to make a puzzle?

Pasadena Adjacent said...

It takes as long as it takes. Hopefully not four years - or the combined "lit life" if each and every one of those bulbs were placed end to end

Paul, you give me an idea. This would make a good jigsaw puzzle, don't you think? Maybe I should have these made up for holiday gifts.

I don't buy CFL bulbs because they have mercury in them. You can't throw them in the trash but most people don't know that, so they pollute like crazy. I wish LEDs were more readily available.

So many ideas -- so little time....

We'll enjoy your book whenever it comes out; you've got a lot of faithful followers here :-)

How many writers does it take to change a bunch of light bulbs?

Petrea Burchard said...

You guys are the best! You're my lights in shining armor!

One writer per bulb, Margaret, if you need it done quickly. Just one if time is not a concern. Either way, you'll still end up with a box full of dimmed bulbs.
