Boz by Request

Yesterday, Dive gave me license to indulge when, regarding the blog, he commented, "As long as Boz appears on a regular basis it definitely has the right stuff in it."

So here is your Weekend Pupdate:

These days, our old pooper gets pooped a lot easier than he used to. Some days he seems "tetched in the haid," as my country relatives used to say. I don't think he's senile. I think he just needs to take his time to ponder things, like whether to walk all the way to the curb, or which way to turn at the end of the sidewalk. Maybe no turn. Maybe just stay right there.

For a while he was getting me up in the wee hours to go outside. But he sleeps through most nights now, and through most days, too. He's tired.

Getting old wears a person out.

Delightful Boz Pause (or should I say paws?). As life seems so fast-paced these days, I think Boz has the right idea to stop and ponder things. And take naps!

Thank you, Petrea (and John for taking the photo). Who can look at this gorgeous portrait and not feel hugged?

{Boz Paws. Good one, Katie!!} Dear Boz. You can have a daily Boz photo and I'll be happy, Petrea.

Aww, how cute.

There he is! My day is better already... :-)

Glad you like him. We love him madly and tenderly. Maybe I'll post him again tomorrow. He still has energy, he still plays. He's sleepiest after a play date with Sprocket and Oso, when he needs a day to recover.

Love his sweet face, all furry and restful, contrasted by the metal grate. Give him a good pet for me.

Ahh, dried paws to ask for attention and a wet nose to nuzzle with. Best dog ever.

Sweet Boz.

He likes his spot by the grate: cool air when it's hot out, warm air when it's cold.

Speedway, Margaret, glad you agree with me.

He's getting good pets from us for all of you. It's raining and the windows are closed. We turned on theater, and he's extra toasty and pungent.

Fabulous photo John!!! Sweet Boz! He's such a gentle soul...

I noticed he plopped down in front of the heater vent. One of my dogs lies down right under the ceiling fan when it's hot. I don't know how much it cools her off, because it's in a 2nd-floor bedroom with no attic space and therefore very hot, but I guess she likes the breeze.

I was just telling Tommy how much I love him (he's on his bed at my feet) when the photo of Boz appeared. "Oh, Boz!" I said out loud. Such a great photo. He looks so peaceful and content. Every dog should get to live out his golden years like Boz.

When I saw the thumbnail I mentally gave the photo the title, 'By popular demand'. Aw...nice to see sweet Boz.

We who know dogs are the lucky ones, I think. They are special creatures. Scientists now think they've been living with us for somewhere around 30,000 years. That's a lasting bond.

that is more than CUTE ..

I like "Getting old wears a person out." Too true! I wish I could be like Boz, snoozing the day away without feeling I'm being lazy. I'm quite prepared to eat food out of a packet every day, or the cooked burgers Boz gets.

What a pity dogs can't tell us what they dream about. Abby seems to be chasing a herd of sheep in Australia. Watch some adorable dogs sleeping here:

PS. Is Boz on YouTube?

Petrea Burchard said...

SH -ic, I agree with you wholeheartedly!

Bellis: best dog video ever! Boz is not on youtube, but he has a pretty fair internet presence here.

LOVED Bellis' video!!!

oh Boz boy, how adorable are you!

He's not senile, he's just giving everything an opportunity to be correct. No need to expend extra energy on things that might not be right.

Give him a gentle pet for me.

Thank you, Julie!
We have a new City Daily Photo site, everyone. It's great. Julie and Peter have worked very hard.

Trish, I think you have it right.

Sweet, handsome boy. Yep, he's tired. There was a time not so long ago when I knew how he feels!

Great to get a Boz fix. He looks quite peaceful, dreaming doggy dreams....
