Because I like to take pictures you might think I choose some amazing shots for my screensaver and desktop photos, and I do. They're not pictures of Paris, or the Great Wall of China, or the wild scenery of Patagonia. They're not my own photos, either. They're pictures my husband takes.
John has become a pro at making detailed, unconventional shots with his iPhone. He photographs leaves and objects and whatnot in just the right light, then processes the photos in software and pushes them to their artistic edges. I like looking at his artwork on a regular basis, and since I stare at the computer a lot a screensaver's a no-brainer.
This photo, however, is one of mine. I took it in an attempt to emulate John's style. It doesn't quite make it. The difference may be that John works alone. I have a collaborator.

Wait, so is it Boz who is your artistic partner? Judging from the angle, he could have taken the picture with his free front paw.
But seriously, I do like this photo, the lines, textures, colors, PAW.
Y'all are really a photographic family.
This is a wonderful photo Petrea and full credit to Boz's sweet paw :))
Yes, I have to credit Boz for adding interest to this one. I thought I was working on something else but he stepped in with his opinion.
I love the texture of the old cement and the leaves in the sidewalk crack. Both decomposing, each at a very different rate.
It's so purrty! Just something about the combination about the colors and textures.
Have you downloaded Hipstamatic yet?
I LOVE this photo! It's fantastic. And I think your collaborater adds just the right touch.
Just so long as the dog's not decomposing, Roberta. Not yet.
Vanda, your comment reminded me to do it.
Thanks, Kat. I'm learning from a master.
I think it's a lovely photo - composition and colors. And obviously, Boz is giving it his stamp of approval.
I thought that paw was an apple core at first. I think you should call it 'Who shot my paw?'
I love this photo. At first I didn't notice Boz's paw. I was just enjoying the abstract beauty. Boz added a whimsical touch. Really nice.
A small fuzzy paw
Sneaks into the photograph
Boz marks his presence
It's beautiful art for art's (and Boz's) sake. Suitable for framing.
Thank you. Boz has great taste in art, and if he could read he would like haikus.
Actually, though, Katie, Boz has less poetic ways of marking his presence.
Very similar to Raine's hand from yesterday. The spooky appendage series.
Oh the paw makes it. I love this Petrea. It might me my new screensaver cause you see photo of Paris, you've seen em all.

Spooky appendage. I like it.
I can't agree about Paris photos, Virginia. If I did, I'd have to admit how much time I waste looking at them.
Haiku? Of course!
I wonder what Wilson would enjoy...

Really cool colors.
I think everything about this photograph is tremendous for all the reasons that everyone has already said but also because of it's zen garden mood.
(I remmeber John's shot o fht beautiful door and lock, the arlier one o fthe leaves I missed. I can't believe he cand dod that with an iphone.)
LL, I haven't met Wilson but I'll bet he'd enjoy anything that gets him a belly rub.
Thank you, Margaret.
Kevin, thank you. John and I are both fans of your work so we'll take your praise and repeat it to ourselves regularly.
Boz...artist extraordinaire...and Petrea's pretty extraordinary too!!!
Well, am I glad to see you back online, Chieftess! Thank you.
