Apparently it's my tradition to post a photo of Timothy Rutt for the annual Primavera celebration. Tim is the brains behind Altadena's powerhouse Altadenablog, and Primavera is the San Gabriel Valley Blogger potluck Tim hosts along with Altadena Hiker Karin Bugge, Susan Carrier of Open Mouth Insert Fork and Cancer Banter, and Debbie Swanson Patrick of Altadena Above It All and Altadena Daily Photo. Thanks, you guys! We had a wonderful time.
I took this photo early, before things got crowded. Later on we had about 45 people, says Tim. Maybe we'll see more pictures of the picnic on their blogs. The food was great and the people were even better.
If you weren't there we missed you.

So glad it was a success. Wish we could have been there!
How I missed that food this time around. Wish we could have been there!
Are those lemon bars next to TR's right cheek? Btw, any leftovers lemon bars? Just asking.
This is so great how a virtual community becomes real life friends.
Looks wonderful! Sounds wonderful! No doubt IS wonderful! What a great regional blogging community you guys have.

Laurie, I looked for you!
Cafe, when I ate my delicious lemon bar, courtesy of the Restless Chef, I thought of you. We missed you.
Dina, we've been fortunate. So many bloggers here, and many are eager to be supportive friends.
Kim, it is a wonderful community! I'm going to have to change my blogroll, though. It's no longer representative. There are so many blogs I can't keep up.
I missed out on the lemon bars, but just as I was getting ready to leave, Liz arrived with...lemon bars! Yum!
It was fun to catch up with our "regulars" and visit with a few bloggers who were new to me.
And of course Boz stole the show!
Thank you for organising this great event, Tim, Karin, Susan and Debbie. Delicious food and sangria, lovely people to talk to, children, dogs, and no membership dues collected. My kind of blub. But I did miss The Phoebe and Albert newsletter.
Ann, I got some darling pics of Tim's kids petting Boz. Maybe I'll post one next week. Boz enjoyed himself.
If you don't know what Bellis is talking about, read the Altadena Hiker's 3/19 post.
Now I'm reliving all of that fabulous food!
It was great fun. CO, there was leftover allkindsofsweets. PasadenaPIO suggested that the homeless shelter on Raymond would love the food, and they did. Great to see people I knew and meet people I didn't.
Petrea - I want to see your "under the table" photo!
So sorry I missed it. I really thought I'd get there, but my life is just too complicated right now. Next year for SURE!
So glad to hear you had a fun blog picnic. How could you not with all the delightful local bloggers! And look at that amazing food -- I'm now desperate for a lemon bar. Next year I'll definitely try to make it.
Susan, isn't that nice that we got to have the fabulous food and Mr. Earl was kind enough to drive it over to Raymond St. so others got to have some, too? Thank you, Mr. Earl. And we shall see about the photo. I might enter it in Abstract Altadena instead of posting it...
Colleen, for all the people who were there just as many were missed, and you were one of those. I hope to see you soon.
Hi Katie. There's been so much discussion about those lemon bars. I think I should introduce you to Desiree, the Restless Chef. Give her recipe a try. They're uncommonly good.
U no wat this means of course: de Restless Cheff needs to bake another large batch of Lemon Bars.
Soon!!!
Great picture Petrea!!! A Tenin perspective at it's best!!! Thanks for passing along information about the picnic yesterday...it was great fun!!!
If you bake it, they will come.
Lemon bars were definitely a highlight .. but there were so MANY highlights! Great food, great company, it was good to see some of the old stalwarts and meet some of the new people. We have an interesting and creative online community, we do, and it's nice to connect with everyone in reality!
The major thought I was left with was: we are all planets, but Petrea is our sun.
Oh, now, Sage Tim, you are too sweet and I'm going to get a big head (which would make me more like a moon). Hiker has the goods on me and you'll tempt her to use them if I'm not careful.
It was a delightful party. Kat mentioned how welcoming the blogging community is around here. I told her my take on it--it's not a competition but rather a supportive group of artists and communicators. I think we enjoy seeing each other succeed. I also think we genuinely like each other. It's just plain fun to get together, and it's just plain fun to blog.
I'm so ashamed. I forgot.
It sounds and looks like a delightful time, I wish I could have been there!
Margaret, you were so, so missed.
Ah, that's ok; so long as I can choose my planet.
Nice photo of Tim.
Are those your clementines on the table?
Oh hi, Amy! I wish you could've been there, too.
Karin, I happy to spin in your orbit, or just carry your bags.
Lots of really good people out there and it sounds like y'all know how to throw a party. What is it about those lemon bars that's got everyone talking?
Thanks for posting the link Petrea!
I'll be chatting about it tomorrow, too--
The lemon bars were excellent, with a short crust that was to die for.
It was a lovely day for the picnic and both Scott and I had a great time meeting old and new friends! Thanks so much to the fab four organizers and all who came....you're all supernovas in your own right.
Keith, why don't you ever come? Everyone wants to meet you. You are cagey. It looks like you should check on Desiree's blog tomorrow to find out about the lemon bars.
Excellent, Des.
Well said, Lori.
PA, almost missed you in the ether. No, our clementine tree is through for the year. Finished at least a month ago if not more, though it was prolific this year. They were delicious, too, and as I said it was your comment on Susan C's blog that got me researching about the bees. I'm pretty sure that's why ours have seeds, and I also think the bees are the reason ours are tastier than the ones in the store. Not genetically modified, basically, just left to their own devices. Next year, a basket of clementines for you so you can corroborate.
I have to second what you said about the supportive community of bloggers we have. Competition isn't a question, because we each farm our own little plot of ground and delight in what our neighbors cultivate, too. I would be lost trying to put up a new picture every day (like Petrea), or writing so deeply about food (like Susan), or just ripping off a four or five paragraph gem of perfect prose that leaves you breathless, like Karin. Makes me glad that these ladies are my friends.
Just give me a fire or a flood to handle, and I'm good.
What does that make you, Zeus? I'm good with that.
