Zen Monday: #85

Zen Monday is the day you experience the photo and give us your thoughts rather than me telling you what I think the photo's about. There's no right or wrong. It means what you think it means, or what you want it to mean.

I look for a photo worth contemplating or, failing that, something odd or silly. And I stay out of the comments box to avoid influencing the intellectual path of the discussion, unless I change my mind. Because, you know, when I get in there everything goes downhill.

As I post each new Zen Monday photo I add
a label to last week's to identify it if necessary.

Graffiti artist Joy realized the error of signing her own name and quickly worked to disguise her moniker.

Is that an order?

Im running into a cement wall coming up with a zen comment.

Er...joy? Is that a command, a waffling or what?

Enjoy removing this graffiti from the wall.

That's actually an ancient arabic epithet: Death to Cinder Block!

On finding out that the dreaded Enjoy gang had come to Pasadena, the Bloods and the Cripps left town.

Bellis, I think the Enjoy gang is the sister to the annoying Be Positive gang.

Very minimalist "grafitti", not one of the regulars. How to bless a concrete retaining wall, dumb in structure, weepholes and hard asphalt, but with grace in the execution of its function.

I hope you all enjoyed (cough) this one. Bellis made me bust a gut. And Ted, you sent me on a happy Google.

Had a kind of a long day. Good, though. I hope yours was good, too. Sweet dreams.

I just did! Can't wait to catch up on your old posts when I get back home (I'm currently in Taipei for a few hours before my long haul back to SF). Our driver from the airport in Bangkok spent a year in Pasadena in the 70s (he even showed me his old driver's license!) so of course I thought of you.

Oy!
Wordplay. Excellent. I usually don't post graffiti, but I had trouble finding Zen last week. Fingers crossed for this week. I don't think Pasadena's running out of Zen, it's not possible.

Katie! Safe travels. Looking forward to hearing all about your trip.

Ted, I read that book a long time ago and loved it. But I didn't remember the Rockbiter.
