Last Day, December 2009

On the last day of September I began this monthly theme: a photo of the same spot from the same angle. The idea is to view it at different seasons and watch it change over time.

I've taken lots of pictures from this spot overlooking Johnson Field at Hahamongna Watershed Park. I chose this for one today because of the blue tint of the sky. I probably just hadn't white-balanced the camera, but I like the photo. It's end-of-yearly.

I could say many things about 2009, but I'll just say I've learned a lot and I'm glad it's over. I hope 2010 will be better for everyone. I wish you a joyous, healthy and prosperous new year.

Fascinating series, and your photo today is the most beautiful of all. Sorry to hear 2009 wasn't a good one for you, though. You always seem so cheerful and optimistic. Here's to 2010!

Perhaps a blue photo is a fitting cap to a year of similar color. Petrea, may you have a wonderful new year!

Will 2010 be your "Blue Period"?

How appropriate that you posted this beautiful blue photo. Just read that we're having a rare "blue moon" tonight on New Year's Eve.

Thank you all for your lovely comments. And happy new year to all of you.

2009 hasn't been a bad year for me, compared to what others have gone through. I still have my home and my income (though it doesn't go as far as it used to!). But people I know and love have endured real hardship and heartbreak, thanks to the economic evils others have wrought upon the system. I hope 2010 will bring an end to their sufferings.

Paula, I have to laugh. I've published more than one "mistake."

Blue moon: second full moon in a month. Not actually blue. Darn.

I'm with you sister. Good bye good riddance 2009. A perfectly moody blue photo to illustrate years end.

Blue balance is so much more interesting than white balance!!!

Happy New Year to all!!!

Sistah PA, I think "good riddance" were the words I was searching for. I don't know that 2010 is going to be any different but I've got big hopes. Hurry hurry is right!

Thanks, Colleen, and likewise. Blogging about our Hometown is one of my pleasures.

Chieftess! "Blue balance"--yeah, I did it on purpose.

Petrea, I love this series and the most recent image is quite evocative. Happy New Year to you and John. Denise and I agree - good riddance to 2009, welcome 2010 with open arms.

I think a lot of people feel that way, Randy. Last night we heard more fireworks at midnight than we've ever heard before in our part of Pasadena. I think folks are glad to see 2009 on its way out.

Petrea, haven't we all! Congratulations on your Blogiversary and Happy New Year.
