Zen Monday: #28

On Zen Monday you experience the photo and tell us what you think, rather than me telling you what the photo's about.
There's no right or wrong.
If the photo evokes something in you, that's all it is.

Excuse me while I break with tradition to announce that today is an important day in Zen Monday history.

I've figured out/remembered where the idea came from. I thought it came from me, but it didn't. I got it from Mitch Rossow at Mitchster.com. Mitch planted the seed in my brain with this post.
I didn't realize it at the time, nor did I realize that Mitch was doing a semi-regular Saturday Moment of Zen. He was first, and I still think that snowman with the yellow hat is the best Zen post ever. I'm still looking for a Zen Monday photo as good as that one. I may always seek it.

Thank you, Mitch.

What is the sound of one business failing?

I have to come back in the morning and try again ... I'm too busy laughing at Bernie K's to come up with anything now.

The names and faces change, but the beautiful Old Town Pasadena architecture stays the same...

The tragic consequences of Tampopo not being available on DVD.

I never tried this place, but just checked out all the negative comments on Yelp. The writing was on the wall before the for lease sign was in the window.

For Lease, (or you can rent it, one moment at a time).

De sound of 1 bizness failing includes more than 1 sound:

Tears
"WTF??"
Anger
Gasps
Stress
Gossip
Rumor
In some cases, political grandstanding
and, Shutter Clicks....

I remember's Mitch's photograph and left a comment at the time. Great that inspired you.

Today's made me feel hungry until I saw the For Lease sign and then I felt sad. I fear we'll see many more of these signs as the REcession gets deeper.

Then I read other comments and realise it wasn't the best place to eat in the first place.

If I were giving prizes today I'd give one to Bernie, but also to Cliff and to Ann!

But who am I to judge?

What did the Zen Bhuddist say to the hot dog vendor?

Clifford Beshers said...

Mister Earl:

Make me one with everything!

One of my favorites.

Zen indeed.
Thanks for the nod, wish I got here earlier. Lost of great comments!

You reminded me of the Zen series that I dropped a while back. I'm starting it back up again this Saturday. Stop by when you get a chance. Happy Holidays!

I love Bernie's comment. For me, the contrast of the original sign and the For Lease sign say, "Impermanence!"
