Drama

I don't know about you, but I've had a week of ups and downs. Kind of like the financial markets--wait, that was mostly downs, wasn't it? I've had ups, but you get my meaning: drama. Sometimes it makes life interesting. Those ups are lovely, aren't they? But sometimes I'd prefer boredom.

While we catch a break this weekend I wish you serenity, time to relax and a chance to collect yourself from all those corners you've spread into. By the time Monday rolls around I expect you to be whole again and ready to celebrate Zen Monday here on the blog.

I know. I know. I'm expecting a lot. But I wouldn't ask it of you if I didn't ask it of myself.

I'm going to spend my weekend catching up on little things. Email. Errands. Housework. Lists. Maybe wrap a present or two. Stuff. If I plan it right, it will be quite, quite dull.

A dogs life is a series of ups & downs in a life filled with people.

P, I'd like to share my little things with you this weekend since it wouldn't make sense for two people 2 do the same thing. Inefficient.

Nice, refreshing, meditative pic.

How how true! I'm with you on that, Petrea. Shabbat shalom to us all.
Thanks for the great sky too.

Hang in there, and I will try to too. We have a cold front coming through this morning, bringing snow and freezing nights. I wonder how long I can get away with posting autumn photos...

I would have never guessed you were feeling stressed today Miss P. May I suggest "take a long bath" as a necessary addition to your list? I think baths are underrated as great stress-busters.

I love this photo. It's serene yet with a hint of instability!

Give me dull anytime! But my past three weeks have been anything but, unfortunately.

Hope you have a restful and peaceful weekend, Petrea.

Fantastic sky!

I don't seek out boredom, but have learned to welcome it if comes because I know it NEVER lasts long.

"Serenity with instability" - HA, Laurie, that sounds like me.

It's a good weekend for hunkering down and eating something warm and delicous. I'm still trying to figure out how a dog can smell like mushroom soup. All the best.

I used to have sudden attacks of anxiety. They were quick and fleeting, and generalized about stuff like mortality. Since fall I've been living in a constant low hum of anxiety about very specific things like economy, employment, etc.

Nice sky.

love the sky and love the light - did anyone catch the moon last night....talk about drama. apparently, it was closer to the earth than its been since 1993. it was big, bold and beautiful.

Petrea - after this weekend, i will be ready for some zen on monday.

This morning I woke to bright blue sky, now clouds like in your photo are starting to form. I'm not thrilled by the thought of rain, but we do need it, and it makes it easier to stay in and get to all those little things you talk about. I hope you have an enjoyable weekend getting things done, but also relaxing and recharging.

Yep I'm in quite a few corners as Christmas approaches Petrea! Thanks for the serene advice though, sounds good to me.

Boring will not listen to me. Stay. Look! There it goes again. Dull is running away with boredom. It's seems endless. I need permanent bath time.

I wish you dullness all the way! I know what you mean about ups and downs. Sometimes it all gets too much and you just want normal. Whatever that is!

Now that I see this shot again, in de light of day, I like it even better!
This might make your greatest hits album.

ps, P, were you surprised how short Laurie was when not behind the cam?

C.O., let's hire a secretary.

Thank you, Dina. Shabbat shalom to you, too.

We got some of that cold front, too, Elaine. We're expecting rain. Well. Hoping for it.

Like Susan C says, Laurie, I like that phrase, too: "Serenity with instability." Thanks. And no, I wasn't stressed. I was past a busy week and ready to relax!

Hilda, will you be getting a break? Three weeks of stress is too much even for a type A personality!

Susan, well said.

AH, if you think I'm going to hunker down and eat my dog, you're wrong. He's too old and he wouldn't be any good. I'm just going to smell him.

The anxious hum you speak of, Vanda, aren't we all feeling it? Someone said yesterday that if you stop listening to the news, you may realize your situation's better than you thought. Much of the news we hear is sensationalized competition for sales. (I used to work in the news business.) They seek out the worst stories to tell, not the ones about what most people are going through (i.e., average ones).

Merci pour les bisous, Stef! Bisous pour toi aussi. I was at a small gathering last week in your neighborhood and met someone who knew you. Now I know which door is yours!

Maria, John ran outside with the camera last night. I hadn't known that about proximity, though. Cool.

Katie, I always think of the Bay Area at this time of year. I've spent many a Christmas there but alas, not this year.

Lynn! Another new profile shot. Cute and bright-eyed.

Miss Havisham wouldn't want to be a prune. But she might like a relaxing cup of chamomille, brought to her by a friend or perhaps administered by her doctor.

Ha, Marley! "Whatever that is."

Oh yes, C.O., she's absolutely elfin.

I could go for some quiet, not all the ups and downs right now. It is such a busy time, but good. Hopefully, things will be calming down somewhat very soon! I hope you all have your share of a non-drama weekend!

Try the dachsund—it's fresh. Or the German shepherd’s pie …

Interesting menu choices BK, you MIDDLE or ONLY child, you.

Vanda said...

Petrea, you might be onto something. Every time I watch the new I feel worse. ;)

Cafe Observer said...

Ahem, uh, a BK chicken whopper right now tastes pretty good compared to anything mushroom. Plus, the economy is gonna have 2 get much worse before I, or the homeless, think of anything canine.

However, we probably do taste better than mushroom soup! And, plenty of people have eaten BK.

There should be a song to go with this...

Stay warm & dry.

Christie, especially with kids! For you this must be such a busy time. I hope it's a happy one, too.

Bernie, C.O., no caninebalism on this dog--er--blog.
