Night Houses

Driving home late
long tired
of noise
radio off
windows open
admit the quiet shouts of the night houses
move on, move on now.

Oh my gosh, this is a beautiful haunting of a hot summer night.

What was your shudder speed?

I hope you're okay, sister. Very effective art here, written and visual. Sort of the anti-Kenton Nelson of Pasadena vision. It'll be okay.

Yeah!

More poetry please, lovely Petrea!

I love your photo and poem. This photo would make a great cover for a novel or book of poetry..

You may have noticed that poetry doesn't bring in the crowds. Dogs, now thats the money maker!

Good evening, everyone. Thanks for visiting and commenting on my experiment (I know a very young person who would call it a "spearmint"). As PasadenaAdjacent has noted, not the moneymaker! And not what PDP is known for, but I wanted to give it a try.

When I visit a blog post that I don't understand or don't enjoy, I refrain from commenting rather than leaving a negative comment, and I think that's fine.

The weekend is upon us, my dears! Thank goodness.

I'm disappointed in, well, in I-don't-know-whom. This is one of your most original, arresting images. I love its desolation—the lysergic trails—the screaming house-mouth …

Websurfers who want an unwavering diet of high-key, symmetric photos of daisies or puppies can just do Google Image searches.

Please exercise your artistic latitude and go crazy more often. The finest art is autobiography.

I love this experiment. Did you think I was dissin'? No no and no.

There's grit in it. Meat for the meatless.

True to your arty nature.

I remain haunted by the marriage of image to word and forever sideways.

I may just do that, Bernie. It's freeing.

Miss H, I didn't think you were dissing. Your oh my gosh was genuine and I got it.

Dina, Elaine, Meead... :)

Shudder speed. Get it? Like you're scared! Shudder!

… hello?

I got it, Bernie. I even got it before but was too...It's a very good pun. Excellent, in fact.
