Mills Place Gates

These gates at the south end of Mills Place open onto a parking lot across from the Burke-Williams Spa. (That's B-W's shadow in the foreground.) You can easily walk around them to the parking lot. I wonder what they used to open onto? They're not the gates to the alley, but some gates. Others just like them mark the entrance to a bar/restaurant further north. I don't know how old they are but they look pretty old. The building peeking from beyond is the quirky Castle Green. I've given you only one picture of it. Must do more.

One last shot of Mills Place tomorrow, then onward.

Detail of the gate:

You should have clambered up the gate to take a peek over the top! They looks so interesting, I'd love to know what is behind them :)

I agree with Marley - I want to know what's on the other side of the wall! Cool detail on the gate (even if it is probably defacing property); looks almost like a cave drawing.

I totally want a gate at my house!! (almost as much as my hubby wants a moat--yes, a moat)

Gates are such intriguing things....

After I saw the photo but before I read the blog I thought "this blog is screaming you need Burke Williams this week". Thanks for the reminder ;)

To marley and katie: Unfortunately I think the trash is hidden behind the gate.

Kim, I confess I took these Mills Place shots after a half-session massage. A friend gave it to me as a gift. If I could go every week, I would!

Just added you to the blogroll. You'll be on the list for the next blogger get-together, if I can help it.

Thanks, Petrea!

The wear on those gates probably suggests the mills have been around for quite a while.
