TMAD Taylor & Gaines. Shiny.

This building shines over the parking lot of Trader Joe's at Hastings Ranch. And this is only the back. Around front a sign designates it as TMAD Taylor & Gaines.

TMAD Who? I park there to buy groceries. I've admired the reflected view of the mountains (click on the photo to see funhouse snow-caps!). But I haven't kept up on structural, electrical or even mechanical system design. Sorry.

Once again, I had to do some research. (What did I ever do without the web? I love the library and there's no substitute for it, but I can't go several times a day.)

TMAD T&G has designed everything from shopping malls to high-tech laboratories. But what impresses me most is their attention to sustainable design, energy conservation and LEED certification services. That's the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System. As more communities aspire to build (and renovate buildings) to that standard, more companies will need to know how.

I banged my nose on a building like that one time. I fell asleep and dreamed I was a seagull. POW!

LOL @ Bernie. The reflection is wonderful. Since they are into designing things, I am sure they know what a nice reflection they would get. Sounds like a nice company to work for or support.

Both of you, keep coming, is all I can say.

At the TMAD web site that you linked to, I discovered that their company has been commissioned to build the new LAUSD K through 12 school on the former site of the Ambassador Hotel. Intriguing!

I think that companies are becoming smarter and are building more of these intelligent buildings. The future is happening there, and is one of the ways of trying to meet the Quioto Protocol and reduce emissions of co2. As to the reflection is simply beautiful, forward to my window there is a building of the same gender that absorbs the blue in a unimaginable way.

Petrea, I love your photos. I must have looked at this building a million times and didn't notice the reflection. So many times what I see in photos is not what all that I perceive seeing in the flesh. Odd how photography can capture things like that.

Palm: Yeah, I was intrigued, too. This blog thing is forcing me to learn things from corners I never poked my nose into before.

Uma: Even though our present Administration didn't sign the treaty, many of our local and state governments adhere to it, including Pasadena's. This is a very "green" city.

Havish: You just feel free to come by here any time and make my day, okay?

I am happy to hear that Petrea :)
