Big Doings

Last Tuesday I posted a photo of the entrance to City Hall and promised more pictures of that building. Today seems like a good day to post another.

It rained a lot last week (the yellow "caution" tape in the photo might be a warning about damp floors in the cloisters), but the day I visited City Hall was a bright day. In the interior courtyard, where the gardens have been newly planted, I caught this bride running after her groom. (As always, click on the photo for the best view). Was he running away from her, or would he be the first to arrive at their appointment?

Consider: high heels on wet sand.

I've walked by this pretty place many times after a yummy lunch at CPK or McCormick & Schmicks!

It is very beautful. Maybe the guy finally came to his senses and is running back to City Hall to get the license back.

Nice to see you, Bernie.

Did you ever stop in, Pont Girl?

Jim: My guess is they were late, and he was faster. But I love the mystery.

Yes, I have been inside. The City Attorney's Office used to have offices there. It was pretty. One of the few buildings left in LA that actually looks like it has some history!

Quite a lot of couples take their wedding photos there. Years ago, I saw a bride up high in the rotunda balcony - what gorgeous shots those must have been!

It must have been wedding photos, Pont Girl. Why wear a gown to a City Hall wedding?
