Forest/Trees

A previous owner of our house tex-coated the place and that has always kind of bothered me.

  2. John took the picture first. I just copied him. This gorgeous animal visited us for the better part of a morning.

  3. I'm sure the stucco job did my house no favors in the cozy department.

    I like your moth.

  4. Stealth moth, strafed by white paint.

  5. Ah, the sins of owners past. Don't we all have a story to tell on that!

I'm ok with my little stucco house. It was built on the cheap -- and having lived in a clap board house for 8 year -- I can tell you, stucco is so much easier to paint.

  6. Is this what stucco is? It comes off in chips. We'd have to sandblast the house to paint it.

  7. Quite a visually appealing critter!

My parents' last house before moving into a retirement home dated back to the 60s. The original owner put shag carpeting everywhere. Including the walls in the basement.

  8. Shag carpeting! I think you win. Unless someone with wood paneling stops by.

  9. But the wall does serve as a great background for this magnificent moth. We have stucco too, and we're getting it repainted. Not sure what color to choose, so have been driving round Pasadena looking at houses. Paint seems to look much nicer on smooth walls or wood.

  10. Here's my question: Is this spray-on stuff what is meant by stucco? I always thought stucco was a more substantial material.

  11. Very nice looking moth that you would probably want to keep outside. Looks hungry :).

  12. We have plenty outside for him to eat!

  14. Yes, isn't the symmetry wonderful? Nature is a much better scientist than I am.

  15. At least the moth loves it ;-)

  16. Speedway, I didn't see your comment until now. You're right. We didn't even hear him.

Geoff, he probably has better taste than I do!

  17. Very striking stripes -- and set off so well by the white background.
