Zen Monday #263

Is this your first Zen Monday? It's the day you tell us what the photo's about, rather than me telling you.

  1. My own boss makes decisions in pretty much the same manner as the sign.

  2. That little yellow sign is really empowering. I'm glad it exists. It is an island amidst desolate confusion.

  3. This sign is for Republicans. Two lefts are better than one right.

  4. I hadn't thought of it as political. This is one reason I like Zen Monday, because you guys always think of stuff that wouldn't have crossed my mind. Like Dive's boss, or even empowerment.

  5. LOL @ Andy's comment! I'm feeling empowered also, to take any of 3 lanes...

  6. Did anyone else notice the satellite dish that looks like an alien creature walking down the roof? It must feel empowered....

  7. When you can't see the way ahead in your job, it's time to ring that number. But look out for the crazy satellite dish climbing down from the roof.....

  8. My boss told me not to call that number.

  9. I don't have anything clever here (especially after Clifford's slam dunk) but I like the photo. It's an example of what I refer to as a California dead zone

  10. That it is, PA. It's the Hollywood Way exit from the westbound 134 freeway.

  11. I think this corner of the world is in desperate need of beautification. Perhaps chandeliers hanging from the telephone poles? Christmas lights on the chain link?

  12. Yeah, it looks like a minimum security prison.

  13. I am my own boss and I like every moment of it, though sometimes it feels really difficult, as I want but can not turn off the permanent feature of decision making. If it were only three ways with clear directions..
I feel deeply sorry to be so unattentive and ungrateful to your kind attention and kind comments. All the best to you.

  14. Hi Irina, it's nice to hear from you whenever you have the time. There's no need to apologize. I hope you're well!

  15. Wait!!! Where's my pencil??? I NEED to write down that number!!!

Oh! Wait...do I really want me for my boss??? Wait...that would mean I would have a boss...which would mean I'd have to come out of retirement...

    Nah...on second thought...skip the pencil!!!

  17. Chieftess, I hope you have a passenger because writing while driving is surely as bad as texting!

    BD, come by any time.

  18. Dayam!!!...can't get away with anything anymore...

  19. sounds like the directions in SoPas on Pasadena Ave as you approach the Gold Line crossing at Monterey. Used to be just fine, then someone decided the Gold Line has right of way and re-route all the cars around-a-bout, worse than any European round-a-bout. sheesh

  20. The little shrubs and weeds in that sad-looking patch are inspired by the sign but don't have the means to perform any self-improvement. Perhaps climbing that chain link fence to freedom could be a first goal. Baby steps...

By the way, I linked to you on the big reveal on my blog today. Sometimes you make my job easier!

  21. Andy's comment put a smile on my face, especially because what caught my attention was the 'Be your own boss' sign... :-)

I appreciate your comment. You are a nice person—smart and good looking, too.
