Students of Zen are taught through experience. Or so I'm told.

Please experience the photo and tell us, in the comments, what you have learned.

(Your first Zen Monday? Just have fun.)

  2. A woman I worked with long ago was griping because her feet hurt; she was uncomfortable, but didn't know why. When we looked at her feet, we found she had on two different shoes, one red, one blue -- and different heel heights to boot!!

We've all come to understand that before we criticize another, we must first walk a mile in their shoes. But what if they're mis-matched? On the wrong feet? Belong to different people? Does it clarify or muddy the message?

  20. See? This is why you are so amazing. I wouldn't see the magic in this if I was just walking by, but you did.

  21. Mutual admiration society, Margaret. We all see magic in different things. It's fun to point them out to each other. That's art, isn't it? Or one possible definition.
