Zen Monday: #126
It's Zen Monday, the day you experience the photo and give us your thoughts rather than me telling you what I think the photo's about.
I look for a photo worth contemplating or, failing that, something odd or silly. And I stay out of the comments box until the end of the day to avoid influencing the discussion, unless you people get totally out of control. This keeps not happening.
There's no right or wrong, we're here to have fun.
You may notice we have a guest photographer today. A warm welcome, please, for Sara Wright!
Sara is our second Zen Monday guest photographer. (The first was Katie Murphy, two weeks ago.) I'm thinking about instituting a Guest Photographer day--perhaps a different day than Zen Monday. Let me know your thoughts, either in the comments or by email.
Can the turtle master its way because of the wings? The (lucky) pig beside it could be more able to bear them.
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of ways to get around in that photo, but I'll take the red-nosed tortoise to guide me along.
ReplyDeleteThis year, Santa's gonna be a little late; he picked the slow and steady transport.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I"m LOL at the cat trying to make sense of all that!
ReplyDeleteV
The gifts will be a late this season. The reindeer are on strike, and the replacement's not quite up to par.
ReplyDeleteyeeeeah. about now, Mr Earl and I are thanking G-d for latkes...never seen any of this mishegas under Hanukkah wrapping paper!
ReplyDeleteCan I have a latke Trish???
ReplyDeleteTurtle fills in for Rudolph who took the year off.
ReplyDelete"If pigs could fly?"
ReplyDelete"If my thought dreams could be seen, they'd probably put my head in a guillotine."
As my mother said, "You can appreciate it, but it's not our holiday!" This photo seals that deal!
Kathy and everyone - you're always welcome for latkes, but you might have to take a Hebrew National or two to go with them. And of course the choco-chips for Karin.
That's ok Mr E...I love Hebrew National!!! (and choco chips!!!)
ReplyDeleteYesterday was "Boxing Day." Today is "Box Turtle Day."
ReplyDeleteActually, Steven, today is Boxing Day in Great Britain because the day after Christmas fell on a Sunday! So let's get out our gloves and make like Mohammed Ali!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind you taking a day off, P, so you can have a weekly great fotographer day. However, I wood mind it if it came at the cost of your zen mondays. So, that's what I'm feeling from this foto.
ReplyDeleteSoaring Turtle pulling a steamboat? Sharing the night sky with the space shuttle? Then pigs carrying baskets of flowers shall fly! So says the cat.
ReplyDeleteHelen had a steamboat...
ReplyDeleteThe steamboat had a bell
Helen had some dynamite
And blew herself to ...
Helen had a steamboat....
Cat's face. I have no more Zen thoughts, I can think only about that cat.

ReplyDeleteTurtle said to Kitty, "Don't lick your lips quite yet. I believe I can out-run you."
ReplyDeleteAnd Kitty replied, "When pigs fly!"
For Terry the Tortoise, the red nose was the final straw. He was going to head off back to the Mojave desert as soon as he could.
ReplyDeleteThis must be one of those reindeer games (they sing about in "Rudolph").
ReplyDeleteLove the kitty's intense curiosity.
It's a cat's Christmas paradise?
ReplyDeleteNow THAT is an eclectic collection - Zen or not!
ReplyDelete;-D
Chieftess---absolutely, I make mine extra crunchy! I don't require HebNat'ls or choco-chips. Just some applesauce and/or sour cream to taste.
ReplyDeleteMr Earl...uhm, appreciate it? really? I was thinking white elephant! and Helen might believe in Sheol when she's blown to bits...ya never know! ;-)
I, too, find the kitty fascinating and am a bit concerned for Miss Turtle's welfare. However, I noticed a tone of concern here and there so I will tell you: I happen to know the red nose is Photoshopped.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun photo, Sara!
Kitties tend not to bother turtles; however curious the cat may have been, she never molested Miss Turtle, who is approximately 45-50 years old. She was found in the middle of a SE Oklahoma highway by my ex, who rescued her and kept her for 35 years until I was given custody a few years ago. He was a corporate pilot and, whenever he changed jobs, would put her in his coat pocket or attache' case to take her to their new home. She was, and is, much loved. As is the kitty, herself a tortie.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Petrea. My pleasure.
