Thanksgiving

Under southern California circumstances, a photo of chocolate turkeys in the rain is appropriate for Thanksgiving. Chocolate, turkeys and rain are just three of the many things I'm thankful for.

I could go on, but let it suffice to say that the list of things for which I'm grateful is far longer than the list of those for which I'm not.

I started writing this long, preachy thing about looking on the bright side on a rainy day, blah blah. But you know whether to be thankful or not. You know what's working for you and what isn't.

So let me just wish you a happy Thanksgiving. Today and every day, may you find your equivalent of chocolate, turkeys and rain.

  3. Nice of the vendor to give these cute chocolate turkeys little raincoats. You're right -- lots to be thankful for every day. I started the day very happy I didn't have to get up and go to work, and will soon be cooking in my mom's kitchen. I can already taste mom's pies. Happy Thanksgiving to you, John and Boz!

  5. A cozy day to you all! Slept late, took the dog for his morning perimeter check and am now sipping my coffee. It's sunny and cold and perfect. Happy Thanksgiving!

  6. Perimeter check - ha ha. That's what Abby wants to do every morning. It gives her great pleasure to tease the dogs stuck behind fences. I'm quite glad I can't understand what they're shouting.

Turkey chocolates must be very hard to make, but what a great idea.

Happy Thanksgiving, and don't let the turkeys get you down.

  7. Yes, Boz has to check to make sure everything's copacetic. It's his territory, after all, and he's responsible if anything's out of place. He takes an adjutant along who will put things to right if anything's amiss.

We found a hike to the waterfall in Eaton Canyon, a roaring fire (in the fireplace), and a relaxing day with family.

    It was a good day.
