Zen Monday: #21

On Zen Monday you experience the photo and tell me what it's about, rather than me telling you what to experience from viewing it.
There's no question or answer, no right or wrong.
If the photo evokes something in you, that's all it is.

  1. It seems like a door that if you opened it, something wonderful, yet completely irrational would be on the other side.

Alice had her looking glass, we have this unassuming door...

Feeling the blues? Step through this door!

  3. I see Agent 99 telling Maxwell Smart that the package is inside the building, but he'll have to enter via the secret unmarked entrance on the back of the building. It's a secret entrance, no one knows it's there. You'll have to search for it....

  5. I'm interested in the detail that they had to break up the concrete to put in a water line or something, then re-lay it.

  12. "Something wonderful, yet completely irrational" would be my definition of Zen Monday. Thank you, Ted.

Oh, the Willits Portal! Thanks for the compliment, Benjamin. For those of you who don't know Willits, may I direct you to USElaine, whose beautifully understated, sunburned photography Benjamin and I admire.

Welcome, Simonpure. I hadn't realized it but surely you're right.

Listen, you guys, I've got to start giving prizes. Cafe Observer, you made me laugh! And PA, I actually went and googled that and --well, so did you! Brilliant. You are all brilliant. Merci beaucoup for a marvelous Monday.

  14. Almost Blue by Elvis Costello

    Almost blue
Almost doing things we used to do
There's a girl here and she's almost you
Almost all the things that your eyes once promised
    I see in hers too
Now your eyes are red from crying

    Almost blue
Flirting with this disaster became me
It named me as the fool who only aimed to be

    Almost blue
Its almost touching it will almost do
    There's a part of me that's always true...always
Not all good things come to an end now it is only a chosen few
I've seen such an unhappy couple

    Almost me
    Almost you
    Almost blue

... and that's what the photo remined me of :|

  15. How fine indeed to have both Elvises appear, via the good graces of Mademoiselle Gramophone and Tash.

How fine, in fact, to have you all appear.

Yo listen up here's a story
About a little guy that lives in a blue world
And all day and all night and everything he sees
Is just blue like him inside and outside
Blue his house with a blue little window
    And a blue corvette
And everything is blue for him and hisself
    And everybody around
Cos he ain't got nobody to listen to

I'm blue da ba dee da ba die...

I have a blue house with a blue window.
Blue is the colour of all that I wear.
Blue are the streets and all the trees are too.
I have a girlfriend and she is so blue.
Blue are the people here that walk around,
Blue like my corvette, it's standing outside.
Blue are the words I say and what I think.
Blue are the feelings that live inside me.

I'm blue da ba dee da ba die...
