Being underwhelmed is also not good. It means nothing's good enough. That's a bad attitude right there.
So, I'm whelmed.
My Story Kitchen writing class is happening and it's fun. I have a couple of editing clients and I love the work. I've got new voice-over opportunities thanks to the home studio I've put together. I'm writing. I'm consulting. I'm building a new website. And more.
More work, more learning curve, more busy, more......aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!lllll good! Yes yes yes. It's all good. I decree it.
I WILL NOT GET SCARED.
or
I AM SCARED BUT I WILL NOT LET THAT STOP ME.
Sorry for shouting.
I've always sought ways to turn my passion into my day job—to get paid to do what I love, or at least something related. I'm getting there.
(Can I monetize eating ice cream and surfing the web?)

If one could monetize that, one would be very rich!
Good on you!!
Love that melancholy photograph too!!
William, I'm working on it at this very moment.
Thanks, Deepak! I fell in love with that rusty old typewriter when I saw it at Rubel Castle.
Love that poor old typewriter. It's the kind I learned typing on in high school in Chicago.
I love following you on the blog all these years, Petrea, and seeing how your ideas and activities and accomplishments just keep multiplying. Keep on going from strength to strength (and stay well whelmed).
It is wonderful when one is whelmed. So glad to hear that things are going well for you. You're a very talented person and have a lot to offer your clients. Love that photo, too...we saw an old typewriter in an antique store yesterday and it brought back so many memories. Especially of that correction fluid called "White Out"!
Best wishes to you in all your endeavors!
I learned on one of these, too, Dina, and my parents had one at home. It was well used.
Thanks for your kind words. I think you and I are the kind of people who don't want to quit.
Thank you, Lowell! I'd love to buy one of these old typewriters but I don't know what I'd do with it. Dust it, I guess.
Whelmed is great! You see, it's not just Shakespeare that can coin new words. You can too! I wonder if I can use it in Scrabble? Glad you're busy with work now, and hope you're earning money from it. A friend gave me some advice when I was overwhelmed. "The way to eat a whale is to take one bite after the other."
I think you should try using "whelmed" in Scrabble, Bellis. I like your friend's whale advice, though whale doesn't sound appetizing. Or how about this? When I told a friend I had too much to do and didn't know what to do first, she said, "You do the thing that bugs you the most." It's a rule I live by.
What a super blog post sharing 'you' with all of us. 'Whelmed' or 'overwhelmed' - the point to me is that you have so much going for you and you are a nice person too!!!
Thank you, Lauren. That's such a nice thing to say!
Good luck Petrea! Be whelmed! :P
How I wish if we get paid for eating ice-creams and surfing...
Thank you, Sims!
I wish we could get paid for the fun stuff, too. Then again, I guess the fun stuff is what we're working to pay for!
Hi Petrea...
Re your comment on Ocala: Some see it and some don't. It moves for me if I stare just above center on the right. Lois Anne doesn't see it, though. Try moving your eyes around. I remember as a kid seeing those pictures of Jesus where his eyes followed you around the room. Some people never saw that, either, but it was kinda creepy!
Thanks, Lowell. I gave it anther shot. If nothing else, it was another chance to look at a pretty image!
I'm beginning to think there's something wrong with my eyes! :) I've been accused before of "seeing things." Oh well. Thanks for the nice comment!
You're not the only one who saw it! 50/50, seems like.
I love being whelmed. Thank you, Petrea ~ it's a wonderful new word. If it gets a bit scary, focus on the whelm. I like it very much! I read somewhere recently on a creative coaching kind of site that for creatives, it's valuable to keep several strings or more to one's bow. Sounds like you have some lovely strings there. Woot for that!
I guess so! I made a priority list, and that helps. Woot for that!
