Litfest Pasadena 2015

Come on down and join us in the Playhouse District on May 9th. We're going to have ourselves a Litfest!

Litfest is Pasadena's annual celebration of literature. Starting in the late morning and continuing into the night, there will be panels about everything from poetry to mystery, memoir to YA. I'll be on the "Adventures in Self-Publishing" panel at 4pm at Vroman's upstairs. PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS A TIME CHANGE.

Or spend the whole day in the District. Check out the area restaurants and shops. Listen to all the panels you can get to. Meet the authors and buy their books at Vroman's. As for my books, Vroman's already has Act As If in stock, and for the weekend of Litfest they'll have Camelot & Vine as well.

Just so's you know: if you can't come to Litfest there's always Amazon, but let's buy local when we can. You can buy both of my books at Hoopla! in Altadena and the Flintridge Bookstore in La Canada, and you can get Act As If at the Pasadena Museum of History Store

I'd rather watch your panel then the "Don't Shoot" panel. I'm too old for that kind of tension. Would you like me to come up and burn some sage afterwards? Clear the room of heavy energy and set the stage for your panel. After all, I am a shaman in training. lol

So who or what is YA?

btw: the Norton Simon is free tonight between 6 - ? Check out Whistler's mother

Thanks, William!

PA, I'm interested to hear that discussion and to show support. I was glad to hear that indictments were handed down today.
We could all use a shaman in training!
YA stands for "Young Adult," a segment of the publishing world that's big right now, like vampire novels were a few years ago.

I had to miss it last year in its new format. I'll try to make it this year!

I hope to see you, Ann!

Sounds very literary ~ I was going to say 'and festive' but the talk before yours puts paid to that theory. All the best for the day, Petrea ~ I hope you need a hand massage at the end of it from inscribing stacks of your wonderful books for people.

I wish I was going to be in Los Angeles next weekend because I would so be there! Next year, perhaps? xoxox

Another of the panels next Saturday is "Satire in the Age of Charlie Hebdo," Shell. The day will have room for serious discussion as well as fun.

Savannah, next time! Meeting blog-friends in person is the best, so rewarding.

You'll be great.

Thank you, Hiker. I hope to be at least memorable, and if that means falling on my face I'll go with it.

I am sure it was successful and joyful and useful fest for you and for "Adventures".

Petrea Burchard said...

Yes, Irina! And you remind me, I have another adventure to post.

Good luck on the day! If you're on the panel, it'll be worth going to. Can't wait to read about your new adventure.

I think it's all going to be fun, Bellis, and all the panels will be interesting.
