Housekeeping

Have you noticed? My blog is now my website—my Online HQ. I've been working on it to the detriment of my other responsibilities. Except Wilma. Wilma keeps me to a standard.

You can now type PetreaBurchard.com, CamelotAndVine.com, BozBooks.net or LivingVicuriously.net into the url field. They'll all bring you here.

Then there are the nifty tabs. See, up top, beneath the title and subtitle? Click a tab, any tab. Let me know what you think.

The process has taught me a lot about patience. And Googling. But Blogger is pretty easy. So far I'm pleased with the results but I'm not finished tweaking.

This is all in preparation for the release of Act As If, my new book, coming out this month. My next task is to get the book online and ready to go. Then I can give the dust bunnies all the attention they deserve.

IT-people detected - all these ".com" jungle and "tabs" thing..

You did this site, tabs and all, by yourself? I'm mighty impressed.

KBF, she's a great spokesperson. You've probably heard her and didn't even know it.

@Karin: yep, that's why I went 'hmm'. Trying to remember the sound of her voice.... :-)

Irina, it's true. You have to figure out what the language is for each different site.

I did, Hiker. It's easy. Blogger allows you 20 pages and you don't have to post them all, you can use them as sub-links. (I have one for Camelot & Vine reviews and another for a story I wrote as a kid.) It's not hard, but I had to google it. I also had to google how to get social media icons. If you need a Paypal button, Paypal walks you through it.

Here's what I'm figuring out, Chieftess. You must boldly go where you haven't gone before. Think logically and take it one step at a time.

KBF, I don't sound like myself in those spots!

This is an exciting, elegant step up! I really like the tabs.

I trust you had plenty of fun as well as frustration along the way, but that's what adventure is all about!

I'm looking forward to the new book. Will there be a contest a la Camelot Where You Are?

Petrea Burchard said...

Thank you, Ann. I hadn't realized the versatility of Blogger. Now I'm all full of myself and will try more stuff.

I'd like to do a contest. Maybe something different. I'm thinking.

The initial release will be ebook only, and I hope to get the paperback out soon after. That's another learning curve. Last time I had someone to set it up for me.

All the luck with your new book, Petrea!

Sorry I've not been commenting lately but a tendinitis (shoulder + elbow) is forcing me to stay away from the computer as much as possible - repeated movements of the arm is all I have to avoid...

Petrea Burchard said...

Take care of that, Jose! You need your camera fingers!
