Pasadena Is in Shape
Pasadenans can feel good about this one: we've been named one of the 10 Healthiest Mid-Size Cities by MyLife.com. Click the link to find out how we rate, and who beat us to #1. You might be surprised to see which of our neighbor cities are listed in the top 10 as well.
MyLife has an interesting batch of information about us. Regular readers of Living Vicuriously might also recognize the spot where they took their representative photo. Thanks to Bryan Vu at MyLife for sending me the information.
More fun for those exploring Pasadena is the new Walking Pasadena Facebook group, started by Sarah Emery Bunn. You're welcome to join and share. Sarah's Flickr page gives you an idea of the treasures to be found as you stroll the streets of Pasadena.

I like to see that there are optimistic views about things and not always hear things pessimistic.
Tomás.
Your much kinder then me. I got an e-mail too and deleted it. Somehow I think a person ought to read a blog first - then decide if it's appropriate to go digging for favors
Helllloooo BV - I'm in Highland Park
Nice angles on this shot. And you have to be careful how you step on that path!
Tomás, I agree. It's why I don't watch the news.
PA, Bryan's was the first of these emails I've responded to. It seemed right, and he seems like a nice guy. Maybe because your blog is "Pasadena Adjacent"?
No kidding, William! Our many hiking trails are almost all rocky. I sprained an ankle a mile up Echo Mountain a few years ago. That was not a good day.
Interesting links here. And an interesting list of healthiest cities. Boulder, Colorado? The name alone sounds healthy. I think - but I'm probably wrong - that their representative photo was taken near the ranger station north of JPL, not in Pasadena at all. I don't recognize it as Hahamongna, do you? A photo of the hundreds of people doing the Rose Bowl Loop would have been better. Your photo's great. We're so fortunate to have lots of walking trails and a good supply of sidewalks. It's impossible to walk safely along the curving, sidewalkless streets of Bel Air and Beverley Hills. Those poor rich people have to drive everywhere.
Ha! Yes, I feel sorry for the rich people.
I guess I haven't posted that many pictures of Eaton Canyon, Bellis! So maybe regular readers won't recognize it.

Hah! I never thought of Eaton Canyon!!
So does that mean no more sitting around munching macarons????
V
Bellis, I really had to think about it. It was immediately familiar, but not.
That's what it means, Virginia. Nobody here does that anymore, unless they happen to stop by macaron heaven. http://www.yelp.com/biz/lette-macarons-pasadena
Yes, obviously - but he read my comment here and wrote me an apology because he realized I was right.
That's nice. Most of the emails I receive from people who want me to share a link are clueless. They don't even seem to come from a real person, but I didn't get that from Bryan, and I thought the link was interesting. The others have no idea what I blog about; they offer information about everything from auto mechanics to bikini waxing, all of which is fine but irrelevant.
Burbank beats Bellevue. I think not. (Congrats, you stumped Bellis.)
Not easy. But I think I misled her.
I wish the MyLife website had a better description of why Pasadena was included, but at least we made it! I joined the Pasadena walking group on Facebook.
That walking group's great, isn't it? I love Sara's idea.
I know you would have been jogging along too, if they hadn't insisted you take the photos.....
Oh yes, certainly Deb, that's me, jog away...
Congratulations, Pasadenans! Just great to be named one of the 10 Healthiest Mid-Size Cities!
Thank you, Sonia. I can't speak for the others but I'm so happy to live in the San Gabriel Valley.
