Peyton Manning's sorrowful pathway to victory over the Patriots. (Go Pats!) I seem to have worldly issues encroaching on my Zen.

Some people go to extremes to stop the Jehovah's Witnesses knocking on their door.

Someone really liked that closing scene from "The Truman Show".

I don't really know who Peyton Manning is and I never saw "The Truman Show." However, I've had the Witnesses at my door so I'm following the conversation, sort of.

That first step is a doozy.

Now that you mention it: why do we think of the name "Geronimo" when leaping from a high place?

Have a great time tonight! But do beware of tricky door cliffs!

The solution to too many door to door sales people...and Jehovah's Witnesses...

We had a great time, Lulu, and the steps were not trick at all.

We ignore them, Chieftess, but a disappearing stairway would be more fun.

@Petrea: Reason for yelling out Geronimo:Paratroopers[edit]
Main article: Geronimo (exclamation)
Thanks to a 1939 movie about Geronimo, US paratroopers traditionally shout "Geronimo" to show they have no fear of jumping out of an airplane. Other Native American-based traditions were also adopted in WWII, such as "Mohawk" haircuts, face paint and spears on their unit patches.

(according to wikipedia)

Thank you for the article, Cliff, which I thought was apocryphal until I read KBF's comment! I wonder if Geronimo's family would approve now.

Dive, it's a good thing I love my mother-in-law.

Jean, that made me laugh!

Love the photo, although I have no caption. So good seeing you last night. Had a great time. I'm so impressed with the San Marino's wonderful Crowell Library.

Dive, that's hilarious.

Oh, I'm so glad all the good caps are taken. Now I don't have to think.

Well, a little bit of Led Zeppelin came to mind, but this version by Tim Wilson/Strother Martin seems more apt for a place that forgot to pay the Shoestring Security Company for use of a stairwell.

The door to eternity........
probably not. But why not...

Petrea Burchard said...

I thought so too, Hiker, until Speedway's link.

Speedway, that is ridiculous, outrageous, and perfect for our topic.

Ms. M, it looks like a crummy place to stay forever, doesn't it?

"Stairway to Heaven" is running thru my mind, but so is "If You Leave" by OMD along with "Hello Goodbye" by the Beatles.
