Litfest Pasadena, 2013

Litfest Pasadena 2013 happened yesterday, May 11th, and a good time was had by all. Such a good time, in fact, that I'm too tired to write much today. But I deserve a day off after Litfest!

 Setting up

The crowds loved it
My partners in fun, Kat Ward and Des Zamorano

My husband John Sandel brought things I forgot and stayed to help for a while.

This was my first book fair/festival with Camelot & Vine. I loved it. Can't wait for the next one!

And people came, they saw & they were conquered—by literature! And they bought books.

Pretty cool.

The booth to the north of us (second photo) was BrownBagBooks.biz. I'd like to spend a few thousand dollars going through their inventory.

Such a lovely event, with interesting panel discussions, tempting books, and Bulgarini ice cream. Much less crowded, noisy, and overwhelming than the LA Times Festival of Books. But I'm not surprised you're tired now - it was a long day's work for you. Hope sales were good.

What a great booth. Knowing Boz, he's blushing.

Cool! I would definitely have stopped by if I lived closer. The Boz Booth definitely looks great, and are those C&V book marks? I gave my mom a copy of C&V and she really enjoyed it. I knew she would!

Bellis, it was all I could do not to spend every penny I have.

Karin, Boz takes such things in stride, which is a slow and pondering one on these hot days.

Katie, I'll send you some bookmarks. I'm glad your mom liked it! That's great to hear.

Thanks, Lauren. (And of course Camelot won!)

(But what did Camelot win??)

Camelot is a handsome racehorse, Chieftess, and he's a winner.

Great event, Petrea! I'm glad the heat got to me, or I would have come home with a huge sack of books (I'm talking addiction, you know). So happy to have my copy of Camelot & Vine at last!

Me too, Dive. It made me feel like a real publisher, which apparently I am.

It was good to see you, Betty! And yes, it was hot! Good thing we didn't have it yesterday or today, though, speaking of heat.

Your first time on the other side of the table at a book fair--how exciting!

congratulations - gosh, if it wasn't for the heat, I would have come. Sounds like it was a hit

It was exciting, Dina. I got a little nervous setting up. But once we got going we had a great time.

Definitely a hot day, PA. But considering yesterday and today have been hotter, it worked well.

Thank you, Adele. It was so much fun.

Susan, it's always a pleasure to see you, and you know I have a soft spot for Tommy.
