Louisiana Fish

Have you been there? Please report. Sure looks funky. I can't tell from the outside if I mean that in a good way or a bad way. But I'm intrigued.

Corner of Washington and Catalina, north end of Bungalow Heaven, west end of East Washington Village.

(Update: A well-liked spot. Bellis sends this link.)

Wow! Love that first photo, Petrea. A work of art.
Er … What's with the chicken?

I think that's a side door, Dive. You can see the main entrance further along the block. My guess is the chicken was a decoration left behind by a previous business, and the current owners are smart enough to keep it.

I've photographed the back entrance before, but yesterday I got that great shadow. And the chicken--I had not noticed the chicken.

Bill's Chicken used to be here.

Perhaps "Louisiana fish" is code for whale meat? Why don't you and John dine there one evening to investigate? It'd be ideal for that Special Occasion, don't you think?

Apologies, I've maligned them. it's a real fried fish place with good reviews on Yelp. http://www.yelp.com/biz/louisiana-fish-pasadena

Never mind the ambience, taste the fish.

Looks like Bill's Chicken is missed:

Bellis, checking the Yelp reviews is what I should have done in the first place. Thank you for the link. It looks like a great place. J & I will have to try it.

Some of the best food can be found in little hole's in the wall!!!

Looks like it. It's a little early in the day for me to crave fish, but after reading the reviews I'm starting to think about tonight...

I know the place. Never thought to stop in there because the look of the place was not appealing. Then again, I've eaten fish at the Central Avenue spots in downtown LA and they look pretty dubious from the outside.

I'm intrigued, too. Must go there!

Time to organize a PDP party. I'll get back to you ASAP. Early April, maybe?

Looks like the perfect place for a PDP lunch party! I love hush puppies. Cool looking building; I like that it's not all fancy-schmancy.

Interesting building, sounds like the restaurant may be worth trying out. Do they do crawfish?

Count me in!

Petrea Burchard said...

Excellent. If you wanna wanna wanna go, let me know when you're NOT available during the first week of April, and I'll try to come up with a time when the most people can make it.

Lunch? Dinner? Weekend? Weekday?

Ms. M, I don't have the answer to your question, but I aim to get it.

Wahhhhh, I'm away until April 16. You'll just have to repeat the party. One can never have too many parties.

I may be in town the latter part of April!!!

Maybe we should do this in the second half of April, then. That gives everyone a lot of time to set a date aside.
