Afternoon light in studio D is only one of the many pleasures of my weekly visit to Bell Sound Studios. There's also an espresso maker, a fully-stocked fridge, and the nicest, most talented staff you could ever want to work with.

ReplyDeleteLike it? I love it. Has a Chandleresque quality. The wavy action looks like the smoke from some dame's cigarette.

Boz is very popular at Bell Sound. He plops himself down in the middle of the lobby where people have to go around him, and everybody has to pet him.

It was a rare sight, K, so I grabbed it. I hadn't seen it either.
Ridiculously pretty picture, it looks like a magic window or portal.

ReplyDeleteI guess there's more than one Chandler part, Ms. M, but some buildings in Hollywood are so 1940's cool.
Not a ghost, but sound waves, embedding themselves into the wall. There was a very old pub in Wales that was said to be haunted, so a team of Ghostbusters investigated if the sounds of past conversations were coming out of the walls. They did detect something. Imagine how much your sound studio could tell...
ReplyDeleteBell Sound has been around for a long time. Snapshots on the wall include pictures of some of the old voice-over greats, plus a weird variety of celebrities. Occasionally I'll see someone famous there, although when this happens I'm usually blindsided, not expecting it, and can't remember their name. I did get my picture taken with June Lockhart one day. We were both wearing pink.
