Afternoon Light in Studio D

Boz got to go with me to Hollywood yesterday. He doesn't much like voice-overs, but he gets a lot of attention at the studio so he tolerates "going to work."

Afternoon light in studio D is only one of the many pleasures of my weekly visit to Bell Sound Studios. There's also an espresso maker, a fully-stocked fridge, and the nicest, most talented staff you could ever want to work with.

  2. Sounds like a beautiful day all around, Petrea. If you ever set up a Facebook page for Boz to interact with all his fans, I'm there.

  6. Outdid yourself in this one. Love the unbalance of the slats and their effect of light on the wall.

  7. I saw the photo and couldn't resist posting it, even though it wasn't taken in Pasadena. Close enough! I'm glad you like it.

  8. Like it? I love it. Has a Chandleresque quality. The wavy action looks like the smoke from some dame's cigarette.

  12. I rarely see light captured that way.

Actually, I don't know if I've *ever* seen light captured that way.

  13. Boz is very popular at Bell Sound. He plops himself down in the middle of the lobby where people have to go around him, and everybody has to pet him.

It's in the Chandler part of town, Hiker.

It was a rare sight, K, so I grabbed it. I hadn't seen it either.

  14. Ridiculously pretty picture, it looks like a magic window or portal.
Speaking of which, I just downloaded Camelot &Vine to my iPad.
I'm a bad person; I actually prefer tablet to paper.

  18. Even a nice couch and, dare I say it?, a heated toilet seat.

  19. What a marvelous photo! And it looks like it'd be in the "Chandler" part of town.

  20. I hope so, PA.

I guess there's more than one Chandler part, Ms. M, but some buildings in Hollywood are so 1940's cool.

  21. Not a ghost, but sound waves, embedding themselves into the wall. There was a very old pub in Wales that was said to be haunted, so a team of Ghostbusters investigated if the sounds of past conversations were coming out of the walls. They did detect something. Imagine how much your sound studio could tell...

  22. Bell Sound has been around for a long time. Snapshots on the wall include pictures of some of the old voice-over greats, plus a weird variety of celebrities. Occasionally I'll see someone famous there, although when this happens I'm usually blindsided, not expecting it, and can't remember their name. I did get my picture taken with June Lockhart one day. We were both wearing pink.

  23. I misread that you were blindfolded! Celebrities demand privacy, after all..
