Leash Laws

They just crossed the street from Pasadena into Altadena. I didn't notice if this big dog was on a leash, but I think so. After all, we do have laws, and a leash comes in handy for leading your dog across the street, regardless of his size.

Boz loves dogs like this. He wants very much to meet one and would gladly present himself if we allowed him to. Once again, the leash comes in handy.

I didn't see the dog. Are you talking about the horse? I'm fairly certain the rider is using a bridle so the "dog" is "leashed".

Otherwise I'm blind at the moment

The dogs in your area look so much like horses.

Back in the late 80's people would ride their horses down quiet streets-away from traffic... no more... I miss seeing the horses amble down the road.

Yeah, BD, I was joking about how Boz seems to think horses are big dogs--or he's not sure what they are but he really, really wants to play with them.

That's what I'm thinking, Andy. It looks much like the horses I knew in my youth. California is so different from Illinois.

We still have 'em, KBF. Especially Altadena. I love it.

I hope they brought poop bags for their dog.

It took me awhile to find the "dog"!!! Kelly would love to play with this big ol dog!!!

Haha!!! I'm glad I wasn't drinking coffee when I read your comment Bellis!!!

Bellis, that is going to be a big bag!

It's not a great picture, Chieftess--I wish the horse were more prominent. But I grabbed it anyway. A slice of life along Woodbury Avenue.

Boz must LOVE the Rose Parade. So many big dogs marching past.
My friend has a Great Dane the size of a small horse; it's the soppiest dog I know.

I saw the horse right off...it was the "dog" I couldn't find...took me awhile to get it!!! (definitely a blonde moment!!!)

When we run into horses in the Lower Arroyo on our walks, Sadie shows a lot of interest in sniffing their butts, but I just tell her they'd kick her into the middle of next week if she tired and that we're movin' on...

Dive, I've never taken Boz to the parade but I don't think he'd like it. He's about as fond of crowds as I am.

Chieftess, you're not the only one!

Diana, this proves the adage, "there are no small dogs."

My dogs also think horses are big dogs. It's not unusual to see horses in West Altadena, and I always have to shorten the leash on the pooches because I'm afraid their enthusiasm will spook the ponies.

Horses are one of my favorite things about west Altadena, Laura. I think most of the horses we see out at Hahamongna are used to dogs, some even travel with their own pooches. Those dogs know how to stay out from under hooves, and I don't think mine has that figured out!

Haha!! As I didn't see the dog
I enlarged the photo... But now, reading the comments, I "see" the big dog. Lol!
