Christmas Wishes

Peace, serenity, tolerance, beauty, prosperity for all...just a wish list. Much like yours, I imagine. May Christmas day and every day hold all of these for you and yours.

  6. Bellis, I actually think there was no one living in this house when I took the picture! Perhaps the agent was making an effort!

Thank you all for your Christmas wishes. We just got back from a long walk at Hahamongna. Muddy! Boz ran and ran. It was lovely.

  8. I received a Christmas card from my broker with the message, "Health, Happiness, and Prosperity." He tripled underlined "Prosperity." No lie. So I guess that means the health and happiness bit are a lock.

  9. Paul, I see you're photo. Beauty is unimportant when you're adorable and fuzzy.

I guess so, Karin. Also, it's clear I'm not original.

  10. I like your wish list. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! I took the pooches on many walks around the neighborhood today. The weather was perfect.

  11. I am trying to understand a personal contradiction. This photo is beautiful. The red door, poinsettias & wreath, and "distressed" paint and woodwork seem homey and even inviting. When I look at my own red door with peeling paint, the flaking blue texture coating on my house, and the exposed windowsills, I see ugliness and neglect.

I wonder if I sometimes need different eyes when looking at my house--and myself.

  13. I like this holiday house - a little run down but making an effort (like a lot of us). Nice wish list too. Sending holiday cheer to you, John, Boz and the whole Pasadena Daily Photo family!

  16. Thank you all for your thoughtful comments. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas day.

Laura, I'm thinking of your door. It might help you to see mine! Or to re-read Katie's comment: "a little run down but making an effort (like a lot of us)." As long as the door works, paint is only make-up.

  17. A belated Merry Christmas to you! I like this door, but then I really don't like flashing Christmas lights, neon effects, inflatable anything...

  18. Thanks, Linda. I like this, too. I enjoy Christmas lights but I can do without flashing and blinking. We keep it simple at our house.
