Head Trip

The blue tile caught my eye when I took this photo some months ago.

(I haven't been out much lately.)

This is the exterior of the Head Trip Salon and Boutique at 16 E. Bellevue Drive. I'm not sure what they sell in the boutique, but it looks like cute clothes. We're south of the Old Town Pasadena shopping area, in the antiques district. There's still plenty of shopping, of course. Here we're generally looking for Craftsman furniture, Chinese vases, antique jewels.

The strolling is more leisurely along these streets, less crowded. And there are plenty of gems. This one: lapis lazuli.

Do you remember when "head trip" meant something else?

many years ago, I went into a "clothes" shop in Santa Cruz with some friends. We heard a 4-some of elderly folks (not just "over 30's") who came out the door laughing about "the back of that place was TOTALLY filled with BONGS!".

JB, the password is "roach clip."

KBF, I rarely get over there, but next time I do, maybe I'll get a shot of it.

Yeah, Trish, folks may get old, but they were young once, and that stuff has been around a long time.

Petrea---lol! roach clip!

I've noticed the creative wording for the medicinal pot shops around here too.

I don't think this is a head shop, I'm sure they do hair! Still, it's funny that they used that phrase. They must not have any customers over 45.

Cali, great clip! Thanks. I haven't seen that in ages! I didn't realize the film was that old. I had thought it was from the 50's.

Gorgeous blue tiles. I wonder how many people wander into Head Trip Salon looking for other things and end up getting a nice hair cut!

Love the blue tile!

And I'm having a head trip just reading the comments, not to mention Cali's clip...

I think I would wander in for the cute clothes...

Yup. But remembering "Head", the most immediate image that comes to mind is Victor Mature and the Monkees in a dune buggy.

Here you go, Roberta. I must say I don't remember this at all.

Oh yes, hearing "head trip" is a nostalgia trip.

That is a gorgeous blue. I haven't explored that area of Pasadena. I must check it out.
