Zen Monday: #216

Here is your Monday Zen.

Now you say something.

**********

We're taking a break from the Camelot Where You Are photo contest this week but we'll get back to it next week. Details are here.

Last week's winner is (drumroll)
Ann Erdman, with #19, the Knight in Shining Armor at Avalon Lake!
Here's how it all shook out:

Thank you all for participating. The winner gets a free copy of my new novel, Camelot & Vine, when it comes out (more on that this week).
I want to come up with a prize for everyone who enters. I'm wracking my brains but bookmarks just don't cut it. Any ideas?

I used to have one of those!
Dang! Nostalgia is tugging at me. Looks like I'm going to have to trade in the car for some cardboard.
Sigh … I miss 1962.

I love the out-of-focus-... gives anonymity... Could be any of our neighborhoods or even our family!.
Your hubby definitely has an eye!.

Reminds me of that old Sly and FamilyStone... 'We are Family' or 'Everyday People'....

You hit that on the head, Dive. Everything changed in '63.

Lining up to poop on the lawn. Dog goes first.

Oh, forgive me, that's disgusting. But hey, it's the first thing that came into my scatological brain.

What a hilarious photo...love it. Prize ideas? You shouldn't!!!! Although a round-trip ticket to Pasadena would be 'gallant' :). PS Mr LOL corrects that to read 'two' tickets...ha ha!

Ummmm, did everyone that voted show proper identification? How do we know that the winner didn't get dead relatives to vote for her? HUmmmm????

Seriously, I think the contest was great fun. Let's do another one.

And they say nobody walks in LA--
even cardboard boxes do.

Kennedy..... looks like an old image from some sort of a gathering. Is it Caroline walking in front of "the walking box"?

My neighbor's gave out Snicker bars on Halloween but all I got was this lousy cardboard box

When "thinking outside the box" involves being in one, but with an open door.

Bellis said...

Oops, I didn't see the walking box in the photo, it only appeared when I clicked on the picture and got to a larger one. Now I see the joke!!

Here comes Sally and her friend, Box-Along Cassidy.

Fascinating photo -- it has many "story leads".

Petrea Burchard said...

It does have story leads! I like the graininess of it, too. The anonymity of it makes it "anytown, USA," sort of...

Virginia, I checked the rules and I see nothing about dead relatives or stuffing the ballot box, so those are fair game. How am I gonna know? I have no idea who's voting. I only see the count.

By the way, LOL, I think plane tickets are an excellent idea. If I sell enough copies of the book we will do that.

I'm feeling restless. Think I'll get in my box and take a spin around the neighborhood? Wanna come with?

Book Dragon said...

I didn't see the box! I did wonder why the man was watching the dog and thinking "is he next?"

Trish said...

Lucy and Jenny were sent by their mother to the Smith's house down the street to pee on the lawn like Ranger in front of a crowd for grading, nothing like peer pressure! The girls are hoping for better than the 60% they each got last night before bedtime, so Jenny brought along her box-a-lot potty trainer to help her mark the spot properly.

Adele, it's a date.

I think these wider photos don't always show up on laptop screens, BD. Bellis didn't see the box either. As for the man watching the dog, it's just one of the stories in the photo. This one's full.

See? Stories. Trish just told one.
