Camelot Where You Are #26, Margaret

"What says Camelot more than Legos, a girl, and an imagination?"

So says Margaret of her daughter Mary's latest castle.

I agree. I built my Camelot with different materials, but the girl and the imagination were indispensable parts.

Thank you, Margaret (and Mary!).

**********

Thanks for playing this week, everyone! Here's the latest poop:

Be sure to vote this weekend for your favorite Camelot Where You Are entry from this week. The poll will appear at the upper left side of the blog tonight (as late as I can manage to stay up) and will remain there until midnight Sunday night.

I have two more entries for the contest so far, so while we await a full complement we'll have a regular blog week next week. Is there a bit of Camelot where you are? Take a photo and enter it! The details are here. Each weekly winner receives a free copy of my new novel, Camelot & Vine, IF AND WHEN I EVER GET THE THING PUBLISHED.

And I will! It's just taking a little longer than I'd hoped. That, my friends, simply means more winners and more free books. So send in your entry!

Wow, Camelot built from the imagination! Very cool.

Yay! A girl who brings her ideas to LEGO reality! Maybe an architect in the making?

I sense enthusiasm for the home-made Camelot! I must say I'm a fan of architecture in--well, most of its forms. Kudos to Mary and Margaret, and welcome to the new visitors here today!

Back again. Just been reading about the high winds (at Adele's, Sierra Madre). Hope all is safe in Pasadena and there are no falling tree branches. At least our Lego Camelot is safe indoors.

She really has made some impressive creations. But-confession time--the girl doesn't know I'm showing off her work. She is sensitive that way.

Chieftess, you got that right!

LOL, this will tell you about our micro-climates: I had no idea about high winds and I live about twelve minutes from Adele.

I'll be careful about that when next I see her, Margaret.

How nice to see LEGO bricks used in such an imaginative way. You can now buy LEGO castle sets, but that lessens the imaginative input from the child. We still have a huge trunk full of bricks from my children's childhood. It comes out every time my grandson visits. Usually the whole family is in there helping him.

Bellis, you remind me of the sets of blocks my father made for each of us when we were kids. He cut 2X4s into different sizes and shapes, then painted the pieces in different colors. We each had a set. I don't know what happened to them all, but I still have one of the blue ones. He made us stick horses, too, and I still have mine.

Love this, Margaret! Your secret's safe with me.

FYI, to LOL, I mentioned the high winds, as they were still being predicted as I published today's blog, then I sold up to no winds at all. So, False Alarm. Yay!! (p.s., they were being predicted on the Channel 5 news, where I also heard a lovely voice telling me of all the nice things I should go pick up at Stater Bros.!)

Oops. That was "I woke up to no winds."

Petrea Burchard said...

I could sell you winds.
