John and crew have been shooting his short film, Strong Love, at our house. My job is "dog wrangler."
During the two days of shooting last week I made myself scarce and took Boz to Burbank for play dates. But at 4:30 in the afternoon it's time for Boz to eat. Dinner has to happen because he's got a tummy like a clock. I could take kibble with me in the car, right? Not exactly. This puppy is 14 years old, with a gastrointestinal system like a 19th century sewer. He gets hamburger with his pills. So I brought him home for meals.
After dinner and a long walk, Boz and I closed ourselves in my office and he napped while I worked. Sometimes, between shots, we'd take a break. Dogs just have to be in the middle of things. I don't think he even liked it but he had to be there. (Thus the need for a dog wrangler.)
Two more days of shooting are set to happen in a couple of weeks. That's bonding time for the dog wrangler and her pal.
Be sure and vote before midnight tonight for your favorite of this past week's entries in the Camelot Where You Are photo contest! (Poll at upper left.)

"… a gastrointestinal system like a 19th century sewer." Hoo boy, that's phrase of the day, Petrea.
The idea of anybody trying to wrangle Boz is hilarious; he's king of the world and the rest of you had better just learn to work around him.
I just clicked the link and watched John's clip promoting the project, and nearly had the Bee Gees scared out of me! {I'm a wuss, but still... I'm glad the lights are on downstairs.} Thanks for the Boz fix, Petrea. I start fretting if I don't see him every few days or so.
Saw the link! wow, your hubby is definitely the convincer of the family!. Hmmm, is convincer a word?? The plot gave me that 'chill'....
As always, it looks like Boz is the boss here!. :-)
I live with a couple of powerful male personalities, that's for sure. I don't know if Boz is confident enough to be king, but he has demands.
Shell, I'm glad you miss him. I figured I could sneak one in here.
And sure, KBF, "convincer" is a word. I figure if it communicates, it works.
How nice to see Boz again. I am blown away with all the activity in your house (filming, recording, etc etc). Brilliant! Off to click the link now :).
Now that is what I call a darn good bit of filming! I'm impressed - glad I clicked the link.
I'm blown away with it all too, LOL. This weekend we are resting! (I'm glad you clicked the link, too.)
My Bee Gees are scared, too! Glad The Filmmaker is making film, and The Pup and The Wrangler are making do.
Boz does look as though he's wondering when he'll get his sleeping floor back. Was he happy to have his own space again today?
I looked at John's trailer and almost screamed. It's very well done - and John is a good actor. Your husband is so multi-talented, a Renaissance man.
Better than do do, Adele.
Bellis, Boz likes occasional novelty but at heart he's a creature of routine. I think he was relieved to have things back to normal.
well, now that everyone's Bee Gees are scared, I'm thinking today isn't the day for me to click on that link! The last time I saw a scary movie on purpose was 1983 on a date...that was enough, thankyouverymuch! I'll trust everyone's opinion on the movie and let my horrorfreak friends know about it.
LOL on Boz' intestinal system! Nothing to mess with, certainly not in a car in LA traffic! Just an FYI, Boz is just making sure that a) John gets the shots right and b) that John shoots Boz' good side for the film. You know, just saying! ;-)
Happy wrangling!
Poll closed early again! I thought I'd fixed it. I guess I don't understand UTC. I'll see what I can do.
Okay, yay, I got the poll reopened. Yikes, this is not easy when I've had a long day!
Trish, you're very observant, and as Boz is asymmetrical he is concerned about which side faces the camera.
Every time I see Boz, I remember that you love the smell of his feet. You love hard, P.
Yeah. And he has the prettiest toes.
Boz will always be the star of any scene that he happens to been in.
Paul, I say thank you. Boz says, "huh?" He can't imagine any other scenario.
I'm sure Boz is glad that he can find his spot in the sunshine again!!!
You know Boz well, Chieftess.
I'm afraid to watch the Strong Love clip while it's dark out. I'll look at it when the sun is shining tomorrow.
Boz wrangler - that's a great job.
I wish I could get paid for it. Need a dog walker?
Over the last two weeks, we had 5 month old Diego stay with us for a total of 8 nights...dog wrangling multiplies exponentially with each dog added...every time I thought I had a handle on these two while walking them they'd tie me up in knots and keep going in different directions...dog wrangling is a tough job!!! I can't imagine being one of those with 5 or 6 walking in the streets of New York...who stops to pick up the, uh, er, droppings??? (without getting strangled???)
I don't think one could be a decent dog walker unless one was also a good dog trainer, Chieftess! One has to keep those pups in line.
Ahhhh...Kelly's a good girl and well behaved...and Diego's not bad for a 5 month old pup...but put them together on a walk on leash...and look out!!!
I'll bet there's a dog wrangler union and you're busted.

For you, V.

I want that cabinet in the upper right hand corner. The one with all the drawers. That is a beauty. I love the library card catalogue cabinets too. Both are kind of similar. How tall is yours?
PA, we wanted a library card catalogue but those were too expensive so we got that at Pottery Barn. It's made to hold CDs, so it's kind of an antique. It's nicely made, about waist high.
I'm keeping my CDs. I gave away my albums years ago and have come to regret it.
