Today's City Daily Photo theme day is "numbers." I knew I'd eventually have a reason to post this shot. This old license plate was part of the eclectic decor at Perdue's barbecue restaurant, a great little place that had an all-too-short tenure on Orange Grove Blvd. near Los Robles. I guess their timing wasn't great, but the food sure was.
City Daily Photo is still having website problems but we still have the nice linky page, thanks to Julie of Sydney Eye. Speaking of eyes, I like telling you about new blogs and lately I've been enjoying Cambridge, UK. Rath Savinders has quite an eye.

Fun shot! I'm sorry I missed this. Looks like it was a good one.
If my rusty French is right, perdue is lost. Maybe it wasn't the best choice of names for a restaurant. I love the old license plate!
i like this one! what a perfect entry for theme day!
Adele, I'm sorry you missed it, too. It was a nice little spot and the food was amazing.
Shell, my rusty French is the same as yours. I think it was a family name.
Thank you, Tanya! I'm glad I held onto it.
That must have been one of the very first car plates - well, the 36* th. It conveys a feeling of incredulity that carriages could run without horses. Nice choice!
What a superb license plate, Petrea. What a shame Perdue's barbecue est maintenant perdu (yes, my French is rusty , too; perhaps we should all meet up in Paris for a refresher).
Oh, and by the way: thanks again for introducing us to Dylan. I've been laughing myself silly at his book today. Wonderful! Being bipolar makes it even funnier.
Too bad Perdue didn't make it....looks like the decor was fun!!!
I couldn't even find the city daily photo site!!! A completely different yahoo site came up instead...
Bellis, I'm sure this was one of the earliest. It charms me.
Dive, that's so cool that you bought Dylan's book. Even cooler that it's making you laugh, you are a tough audience.
Chieftess, did you try the linky site I linked to? The CDP site has been down for three months now. I don't know what's going to happen to it.
I should have...I found a city daily blog site on yahoo, but it wasn't functioning either...I ended up linking with wild bird wednesday instead!!!
A lovely little red number (no pun intended) for numbers theme day! I guess it's good to never throw photos away :) (And Cambridge UK is a lovely blog I agree!)
For some reason, I saw "Carseless Horriage."
Careless Porridge.
A very interesting post. I like your choice for this theme day. Thanks for sharing with us all.
