I promised silliness today because, I mean, yesterday I was so serious. I'm sure we'll get back to that but you just can't be that way every day. (Okay, fine, if you must, but I can't.)
I suppose I could have saved this for Zen Monday. Goodness knows I'm running out of those.

That is a seriously silly self portrait, Petrea.
If ever you snap and go postal, this is the photo the press will use. It has serial killer stamped all over it. Hee hee.
oh, what you said, Dive ...lol
Did you catch one of the teddies, Petrea? I used to love these machines at the local show when I was little. Littler.
I love how that yellow bear is posing! Looks like YOU are the grand prize in that box!. :-)
Oh, it's TLOLFP. In reverse....
"I'm only a bird, in a gilded cage..."
Agreed, Book Dragon, Dive's got it. Funny (or awful) that "going postal" has stuck with us...
Shell, rather than toss dollars into machines like these I toss them into my "Vacation in Oz" fund.
KBF, I like the way you think!...I think.
JB, The Life Of Leisure For Petrea (?) That's the first thing I comes to mind but it doesn't make much sense in reverse.
"...A beautiful sight to seeeeee....." My dad used to sing that one, Adele. I have his old songbook. One year I found copies on ebay and in used bookstores and gave them to my siblings for Christmas. But I am wicked. I kept the beat up old original for myself.
The only way it might have been sillier was if you'd somehow managed to take the picture from inside, amid the teddy bears and a local enterprising toddler or two.
It's your blog, Petrea, and it is great that you mix it up a little with lots of variety. Don't change. Having said that, I just can't make out what sort of camera you are holding????? Please do tell :)
Back to the car wash?
I'd enjoy that, Speedway.
LOL, it's a Canon 20D. I bought it second-hand from local pro, Ibarionex Perello. I'm hoping it has a bit of his mojo, but I took his workshop to make sure. He's super.
You got it, Des. Or really just more from the same day of snapping.
"Mommy, keep putting quarters in til we win that lady!"
Wonderful surreal self-portrait. Very poetic...
Laurie, you made me laugh.
Yet I also like the surreal and poetic. Thanks, Ms. M.
Don't worry about what Dive said, it doesn't look like you at all. My sister, more profligate with money in her youth, used to play these machines and always won teddies and furry toys. I saved my money (often to lend to her) but was actually very envious of those toys. Even now, I wish I could allow myself to play - even though I know I'd never hook a teddy.
In the long run it's probably cheaper to buy a cute teddy in a store, Bellis. But I don't think that's why people play.
Ta, Petrea. I am thinking about taking a leap and upgrade to a camera with a viewfinder. Pays to ask what other people use.
You look very serious in this silly photo! And now I'm off to read your serious post. I have a hunch I know what it's about.
What fun, this shot!
