Goddesses

I could have shown you Margaret Finnegan signing books for her fans. She signed a lot of books yesterday.

I could have shown you the people. SPACE Arts Center in South Pasadena was packed.

I could have shown you Margaret reading from her book. She read brilliantly, and now everyone is begging for the audiobook.

I could have shown you the crowd either noshing, laughing, or applauding.

But this is my favorite shot: two readers, absorbed in the blurbs on the back of The Goddess Lounge. They're about to buy a couple of copies and have them signed by the author.

Margaret Finnegan's novel, The Goddess Lounge, is on sale everywhere. If you're not sure you want to make an investment, you can read Margaret's blog for a while or check out her stories on Smashwords. Once you've done that, I think you'll be as proud to know her as I am.

Yay, Margaret! The Goddess Lounge is indeed available 'everywhere', even on Amazon's UK site (I just ordered my copy).

Love the photo, Petrea. It looks like a well-attended event. I always find a beret on a woman attractive (where on a man it simply makes me want to buy French onions) as it adds an aura of arty-farty pretentiousness (something else I find perversely attractive). Not too sure about matching it with cut-off shorty shorts, however. Is that a Pasadena thang?

I feel I need to don my beret while reading your post, Petrea, but I will leave the cut-off shorts in my time capsule. There's no way I could pull the two together like this young lady does. Hooray for a packed venue, and signing lots of books means selling lots of books, so double hooray for Margaret.

I'm reading it on my Kindle! Margaret's a great writer, and I'm sorry I missed this event. hope she becomes as successful as E.L. James.

Ah, shucks. I am a bit humbled. It was actually pretty great, yesterday. I don't know why I was so stressed out because everyone was lovely. The women in the photo are two of the most amazing women you will EVER meet in your lives. They are goddesses indeed.

It was great, Margaret. I do not exaggerate. I had such a good time and I'm so excited for you. I wish I'd met these women. I love the photo.

Dive, I'll be interested to hear your take on the book and I know you'll share it with me. I think this young woman pulls off the beret/cut-offs look well; it was just right for a very hot, so-Cal day.

Time capsule for me, too, Shell. There was a day when I could do it and do it well, but that's long gone.

I've never read E.L. James, Bellis, so Margaret's already more successful at my house! Of course now you've put a new author on my list.

Margaret was fabulous, and it appears willing to tell you so. Quick and sharp; she. And I love her shoes.

btw: a hola to you Petrea, I didn't get a chance to say hello. Seems you and the hiker took a French exit. I stayed behind for the free cheese.

Well, I waved at you, but we didn't get much chatting time.

I know Victor's got a show. Kind of waiting for Bellis to get back, to go see it with me. It's tradition.

SPACE looks like a great place for Margaret's reading/signing of The Goddess Lounge. So glad it was a success! (Not that I had the slightest doubt that it would be a packed and fun event Margaret!) I'm about to start chapter 9 and I'm torn between continuing to savor a few pages before bed so I can spend more time with Penne, and settling into a lawn chair in the sun this afternoon and finishing it. Such are the dilemmas when reading an excellent book!

I regret that I had to miss this event. We're all so happy for her!

Back for a second visit. It really was a good time, and I just want to send a shout out to all who came and all who sent good wishes and all who still send good wished. I am feeling very blessed today.

Yay! Looks like a great success! I have finished "The Goddess Lounge" -- thoroughly enjoyed it! (I will write an Amazon review sometime soon)
Petrea, what great PR for this! Your generosity to writers/artists is wonderful and inspiring.

Oh gosh, thank you, Ms. M. It doesn't feel so much like I'm being generous to Margaret and other authors as it does like I'm learning from their process and excited about following in their footsteps. Artists inspire me. I wouldn't have much of a blog without them.

I'm late but I wanted to add my voice to the chorus. Margaret, you were fabulous. I loved hearing you read. And it was fun to be a part of such a great crowd. I'll be delving into The Goddess Lounge this week. Can't wait!

Oh, and I second Ms. M's kudos to you, Petrea. Thank you for introducing me to Laurie yesterday - and for introducing me to Margaret, whenever that was!

PA, I saw you at the reading but had to cut out before saying hello and goodbye. Next time!

I happen to have met those 2 Goddesses pictured above. At the Food Table in back. Anyone who is a friend of food, is a Goddess to me.

And after Margaret & Hope, I want to especially thank PA for taking the time to seek me out from among the gathered Goddesses for a quik chat & then introducing me to a few more of her friends!

It is always good for artists to meet artists. I think we all have a bit of the artist in us.
