Creative Reuse

You might want to bookmark this just for the color palette. If it doesn't work for you as a building, perhaps you'd like it in a purse. Or as food.

I like it as a building. If you want to have a look, it's at the corner of Valley Street and DeLacey Avenue, a block or two south of Old Town Pasadena.

I love this kind of architecture. The shape of that facade says "old west frontier" to me. Except the old west is wearing a new outfit, and I just adore that handbag.

WOAH!
Pink and green Heaven (or maybe hall).
Thank you, Petrea; you've given me a new mission in life: I have GOT to try to get something like that past the English Planning system. As an Architect and a lover of glorious bad taste it will be a challenge to relish.
I'd love a high res version of that photo to print out and stick up on the office wall to scare the bejeezus out of clients.

Oh, and what happened to your sky? It looks peculiarly English.

I definitely see the old west... What I like is the brick work... Simple lines and a lot of detail.

I love the color combo! I also like how the area around the door and windows makes a little face, with the tree as a big, pink head of hair. Can you see it? (Look for a link to this post soon. I have a big pink tree in an upcoming post.) Happy Saturday to you!

Dive, I took the picture in March. It's rare, but it happens.

KBF, I suppose the windows have changed over time, but that roof outline says "six gun" to me. In fact, this building is not far from Pasadena's old livery stable.

Okay Adele, I'll see your face, but those are some strange-looking ears.

I love this color anyway, but with the pink tabebuia tree blooming in front of it, it's just delicious!

The shape says 'old fire station' to me, the colours on the other hand say mint ice cream, with a chocolate flake.

Fabulous fine Petrea!!! I love the brown around the window against the gorgeous green and pink...This says art deco industrial to me! LOVE it!!!

Adele, you are so imaginative! I see it now, but wouldn't have otherwise. I love the colors, I have green & pink in one of my bathrooms.

Diana, I will be grateful to you as long as I can remember the word "tabebuia."

Deb, you're making me hungry.

It's a beauty, isn't it, Chieftess? Maybe I'll drive you past.

I think you're imaginative too, Laura. These are great colors for interiors.

Such an awesome building (love how the roof steps up then down again) and the colors are fabulous. Even without the stunning pink tree, the green and brown building is so cool. Granted now I'm having flashbacks to my favorite 1982 preppy outfit of hot pink wide wale cords and a lime green Izod sweater.

Hee hee, someone once convinced me to finally love this color once I saw it on a fantastico purse! Thanks for the shot of nostalgia! I love the old west frontier vibe as well.

Now that's the way to spice up a building! Makes it easy to give directions to a shopper or client. It would make a splendid purse :-)

Now I'm thinking I need to go out and get some accessories in these colors. But if I do that I'll have to buy clothes to match.

I like the combination of the color green of the wall and the rose of the tree's flowers.
