Zen Monday: #194
And now, for your Monday Zen.
If you're not sure what we do here on Mondays, just ask and I'll let you know. Otherwise, leave your impressions/expressions/interpretations in the comments.
And thank you. I love Zen Mondays.
By the way, if you're viewing this post on http://bestpasadena.com/, you are viewing a pirate site. bestpasadena.com steals all of its content in hopes you will click on their ads. So don't!

Oooh, a pirate site steals your stuff! You must feel so important! I think this means you've made the Big Time!
Isn't it great, Denise? I've made the big time more than once so I have experience. It's not hard to shut these guys down, it's just a pain (unless you don't have anything else to do). This time they copied bigger sites than mine (one is owned by Huffpo!) so it should be relatively easy.
Love the sign. Makes me wonder if there is a short shelf with similar verbiage. Not a thru driveway...
I've had a local reporter ask to use my work, have a conversation with me about same work I asked to have either myself or Latino Heritage credited with the work, and then they used it without attribution.
Those too busy texting who miss the sign walk right into the trap set by the iPhone hater - and there's no escape once you're in his house.
Setting of Shel Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk Ends?
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Shel Silverstein (Where the Sidewalk Ends)
Roberta, I had the same happen with a local magazine. Later, when they had a new editor, they made up for it. I guess the first one was an amateur.
I want to cool in the peppermint wind.
St. Petrea of Pasadena wields her mighty virtual sword in defense of all good and honest bloggers...Hear ye!!! Hear ye!!!
In other words...you go girl!!!
I am no saint, Chieftess, which the thieves at the other end of my sword are in the process of discovering.
Yes indeedy...the St. Joan of Arc of the Dena's!!!
Peppermint wind sounds lovely. Pirates, not so much.
How did yoy realize thet were pirating you? And shame on them.
Because of my dad and his accent, in kid-dom I thought Not a Through Street was Not a True Street. And I think he had something there.
Your dad did have something, Karin. That's sweet and true.
Margaret, I have Google searches running. If you have a Google account you can monitor yourself (or any subject) on the web by setting up searches. I imagine other services do it, too. I monitor my name, my blog's name, subjects I'm researching and titles of my published and unpublished works. The search turned up a post about Camelot & Vine (my as-yet unpublished novel) on someone else's blog! I went to look and it was my own post from the other day. They were also stealing from other local online publications and I alerted everyone.
By the way, it looks like they've been shut down. Fingers crossed.
I also thought of the Shel Silverstein poem. I'd like to hear the call of a moon-bird as well as feel the cool of the peppermint wind....
Good luck with the pirates.
I don't think I've ever seen anything like this sign. I wonder what prompted the city to put it up. Did someone walk down this sidewalk and trip at the end, prompting a call to City Hall demanding a sign? Bummer about the pirates, but glad the site has been shut down.
I'm glad you all referenced Shel Silverstein because I had Maurice Sendak on the brain. Maybe there are monsters down there at the end of the sidewalk.
And Roberta, I love that "not a thru driveway."
Katie, there's no telling why the sign is there. A lawsuit? I wonder if you could sue for a sidewalk ending too soon. You know, like you just weren't prepared for that to happen.
