Zen Monday is the day you tell us what the photo is about, rather than me telling you. I'm sure there's a logical explanation for this one, I just don't know what it is.
Probably a safety move. Since the hook is at eye level, the bag might be there to prevent someone from walking into it. (Notice also the red tape). It looks like it was left over the weekend and the operators were trying to prevent an injury. My guess. Tim
Geez...I feel like I just looked at the Zen Monday tall bike man, and here it is, Zen Monday again. (That's what six straight days of being sick will do, I guess.) Anyway, the first thought that came to my mind for this pic was "impending doom". Not sure whether the little wrecking ball or WalMart made that happen. : O Possibly both.
I once heard someone, maybe Richard Pryor, say "It's not if you've got your shit together, but whether you can carry the load." Well, someone needed to call up a crane to carry the the stuff they got at Walmart.
Ooh! I sense Walmart hostility here. Fortunately, there is no Walmart in Pasadena. I hope there never will be.
I was in a Walmart once, in about 2000. The place was a mess, the employees were miserable, the customers were miserable, and it was a creepy experience. (The one in Duarte, I assume it's still there.)
But when I posted this I was thinking less about the logo on the bag than the bag itself. I wondered what it was doing there and I didn't investigate more closely. There may well have been dog poo in the bag, but I sense Tim is correct.
Thank you all for hanging out today. I hope to find another one for next week!

And here, I thought I was the only one who didn't like Wallmart...
Recycling overkill?
Betsy
This one's easy. It's LA's new machine to clear the Arroyo Seco of plastic bags, one at a time.
Recycling heavy metals.
Walmart wrecking communities the old fashioned way.
If I had a bag with Walmart written on it, I'd keep it at crane's length, too.
The new design for dog poop bag dispensers...
I'd really have liked to see the Walmart checkout clerk trying to bag that crane.
That's an AALD (Approved Anti-Lawsuit Device) to indemnify the crane company if someone gets tangled up in that hook by accident.
I like Frank's comment. Thats a winner
Walmart - A ball and chain in the community.
Speedway's comment is the winner for this photo! LOL
Frank and Speedway seem to have captured the essense of these photos.

Such great comments! I'll have to admit that my first thought was 'that must have been one big dog...' :-)
This made me laugh. That's one potent poop bag.
