Even so, there's room for beauty if you make it.

More emails coming in today from people unable to comment on Blogger. Thank you all, and wish me luck! This weekend I attempt the move to Wordpress so we can get back to normal around here. I'm not a software genius so there are no guarantees, and I will need that luck.

Wow, Petrea, how did you manage to make beauty out of half-done paint swatches? That's pretty fine.
Hi James. I'm relieved to see your comment. So many people are complaining about Blogger today.
I never noticed this camellia while the previous tenants were there. The men working on the house made beauty by removing piles of junk and letting it shine through.
But they couldn't decide which exact shade of white worked best, so they gave up? The camellia does benefit form the background - beautiful colour. Good luck with shifting to a new blog. I'll miss this one, it's become so familiar over the years.
I think the white is primer. They're still in the process. I don't know what the end result will be. They've pulled piles of trash out of the place. I'm sure the next-door neighbors are thrilled the previous folks are gone.
I've been reading up about moving the blog and I should be able to move the whole thing, so it'll still be the same blog. Probably some changes in the look of it, though. I'm questioning whether or not WordPress is the best place to go, there are lots of complaints about it. I don't know what to do!
My beef about Blogger is comments: One can't follow comments on some blogs because of the comment format the blogger uses. But if you choose the one I've got, which you can follow, so many people apparently can't comment! And there's no one at Blogger to help. I saw on their "known issues" that people have been lodging complaints about this since last October.
Comments! Yay!
I feel like Sisyphus with the never-ending home improvement projects. I need to remember to just stop and appreciate the flowers. These are lovely.
How did this happen? Speaking of Sisyphus, if I can tell others what to do I might not have to move the blog to what's beginning to look like another can of worms.
Beautiful light and colours.
Ah, the joys of home ownership, Susan. I often think I'd have more peace of mind if I rented. Every appliance in my house has turned against me. They're breaking down, one by one. Time to move? Talking of which, I hope you don't have to move, if you can get the right answer. Have you tried asking on Facebook?
Merci, llandudno!
That's a good idea. I spent a little time today checking out possibilities but haven't made a decision. What I really want is the guru of all blogging (whoever that is) to come and tell me what to do.
Really like the eye-popping red against the gray and white squares.
Change is definitely work, as well as sweat, maybe some blood and tears. I like how you have framed that pic... A friend of mine had a grey house and she painted her front door red which is perfect feng shui...
I kinda wouldn't mind if they left it that way. Kinda.
There's one like that on El Molino but I can't get the sun to shine properly on the door for a good photo. I'll work on it.
I like this photo, too. It reminds me of quilt squares. The red roses glow so well against the slate blue gray.

I dfo like the way that these camelias change colour to match their surroundings.
What was that?
Oh.
That would be chameleons.
Sorry about that...
hahahaha
Oh! I think I get it. How strange. Is that hacking?
The City Daily Photo site was hacked. I don't know why someone would do that--to get email addresses, I guess. The site has been down for a couple of weeks. So that's why we did theme day a little differently, thanks to Julie from Sydney. I already liked her but everyone's imitating me, they'll all love her forever now, she has so many fans.
I'm sure I must have said this before (maybe even too many times) but I will say it again -- I *love* this picture, and the post!
