Shadow Courtyard

I've been waiting for just the right occasion to post this photo. There hasn't been one, so I'm posting it because it's Friday.

I took the picture last December when I was at City Hall with photographer Ibarionex Perello and his Digital Boot Camp workshop. (He's got another one coming up this month; I highly recommend it.) I don't know why the courtyard was so filled with people but it looked like perhaps a couple of school field trips were visiting. They sure had a nice day for it.

I'll second that recommendation. I'm hoping he also organizes some local photo safaris around town this spring.

I like photo safaris, with or without a teacher. Just taking the camera out and shooting, shooting, shooting. You can find great pictures anywhere when you just get out of the car.

I like your picture. City Hall always looks so nice.

I used to think it was impossible to take a bad picture there, Margaret, but I've since managed to prove myself wrong.

I'm waiting for the right time in my life to take one of Ibarionex's workshops. It'll happen eventually but not just yet. Thanks for keeping them on my radar.

I think they were, Bellis.

Even if you never take a workshop from Ibarionex he's a cool guy, so just meet him. Next time we have a blogger picnic.

I discovered photo-safaris when I was in junior high, a I bought my first SLR. The shutter speeds went all the way to 1/500th of a second! I'd walk through my hometown, absorbed in learning to see. Never have it up, but now my phone shoots better pictures …
