High Temps in the Lower Arroyo

We've had a bit of cold weather. That's relative, of course--"cold weather" doesn't really occur around here. But for my walk with Boz yesterday I wore my winter coat with a scarf and mittens. It should be said, however, that my neighbor was wearing shorts and flip-flops. I can't tell you which of us is the sane one. Not objectively.

Suffice it to say I didn't take this picture yesterday. I did, however, take it this month.

When we say high temps here in Michigan, we mean in the 40's. That's when the winter gear comes off and the thin jackets go on! Your photo is very peaceful.

Cold? yesterday? Naw, not where I'm at. It was gorgeous. I even worked out in the yard.. You must be up against the foothills.

Oh yes, Tracy. I'm from northern Illinois. I have memories of it. I can't go back during the winter. Not only would it be impossible for me to venture out of doors, but I'd be laughed at.

So maybe my neighbor is the sane one, Kalei. We're north of the freeway, at least.

I just love this photo. At first sight the sunbathers appear to be split in two. You caught their reflections so well.

Is this Pasadena's version of le déjeuner sur l'herbe?

Chieftess, it gets below 70 and I've got a sweater on.

Bellis, that would be the blogger picnic, Primavera in Altadena:

Everyone's invited. You don't have to be a blogger.

I wouldn't say your neighbor was the sane one.. This is California- where the weather can be perceived however by anyone... lol... I remember when a man saw my girls dressed in flip flops and shorts and windbreaker... He said " only in California"... and its true.. Keep warm up top and it doesn't matter if u wear shorts..

Oh, I know. Sometimes I'm wrapped up like Nanook of the north and meet some person in cutoffs. Cold knees, that's what bothers me most.

I am vindicated! I feel much better now, thank you both. My legs can usually stand much more cold than my upper body (sorry about your knees, Karin). Layers, scarf, hat, mittens and shorts, that's me.

Hell yeah to the knees!. :-)
